This is THE best meal planner on Notion that I've found so far and by a mile. 😁👏👏👏 May I suggest that on the shopping list you can use a formula to copy the value of the planned meal that from the rollup that you use to filter the recipes on the planned meal and then (finally) rollup the formula on the ingredients to filter the shopping list with the already planned meals - that way you don't have to modify the list filter everytime you use it.

Hey Rafael, Thanks so much for your kind words - they made my day! I'm thrilled that you find my Notion meal planner to be the best by far. 😁👏👏👏 I love your idea for the shopping list! By the way, I have a slightly modified version of the template that includes an automatically filtered shopping list based on the planned meals for the current week. If you're interested, shoot me an email at contact@shorouk.dev. Thanks again for your suggestion, and feel free to reach out if you have any other ideas or questions. Cheers!"

I'm so glad I found this! I've been playing around with the template and getting familiar with it (and Notion), but one thing I was looking for was a shopping list that I can check off the ingredients as I'm shopping. Do you have any advice on how to create a copy of the shopping list like this, or would I have to do this manually by typing out the list? It's the only thing I'm looking for that would make this absolutely perfect! Thank you :)

Hi Shorouk! I was wondering, do you have a workflow for moving a recipe from "to try" into your regular recipe database? And do you usually delete a recipe from "to try" once you've moved it over?
@shorouksaziz2 жыл бұрын
Hi Eva! Yeah, So when I pick something from the "to try" to add in the meal planner. I mark it as "tried" and just write its name (don't acctually fill the recipe page), and each couole of weeks I go through those marked tried and either delete them or convert them then also delete them. I try not to keep more than 5 to 10 recipes there. Becsuse more than that I'm just collecting URLs and not acctually trying anything.
@EvaParish2 жыл бұрын
Hi Shorouk, got it! That makes sense to convert them in batches every couple weeks. I do tend to collect a lot of recipes to try, but I've been loving the use of tags to sort through them and pick what to cook. Previously I used folders in the NYT cooking app, but now I can collect recipes from all different sources, which is exactly what I wanted. Thanks again!

unless there's an add on that helps with this, meal planning templates will be inferior to apps that scrape food brands so users can add what they eat when they buy prepackaged foods or dine out.

This is terrific! I used to use a program that did almost all of this (your's is better) except for one thing. Maybe when you are bored, you can add store price comparisons, what the tax is, and if you have a coupon. The program I used to use priced itself out of my price range; I will get yours next month after I pay my gas bill. As for the store price comparison, I actually use an Excel sheet for that. When I moved to Massachusetts from Florida 18 years ago, I was surprised to see tax on food in MA, but not on clothes. It is the opposite in FL. This is a lovely set of templates, and I will be getting it. One question: how does Webclipper integrate with this. You mentioned it does, but didn't explain how. Outstanding work!!! 👏👏👏
@shorouksaziz2 жыл бұрын
Hi Tere, Thank you so much you have no idea how much this motivates me🙏🙏🙏 I'll definitely think about the store price comparisons feature I think it'll be super helpful. About the Web clipper, so, when capturing recipes I wanna try I sometimes use it to add to the "Recipes to try" table. It makes it a bit easier when converting the tried recipe to go into the "Recipes" table since things like Instructions, notes etc... will be ready to just copy-paste. PS: send me an email at contact@shorouk.dev I have something for you!
