I was watching behind the scenes interviews and he was being an ass about his character. I always thought his performance was weird, but the interview explained why. He had a lot of vitriol about playing someone 'possessed' - he said he didn't know how to play possessed so he played him like someone with mental illness instead. He had a lot of attitude, borderline whining, about ghosts and the supernatural - it's like, dude - you didn't have to play it. Pass the role to someone else.
