Great video; thanks for posting. I did not take "Before" photos and this video helped me figure out one problem I had but couldn't figure out without a photo. My only "suggestion for improvement" would be to remove the pin for that "boom cylinder" that makes it a tight squeeze for all the hoses running through the "sleeve" in that tight spot. By getting that one cylinder out of the way I was able to replace two hoses that was running through that protective "sleeve" without having to cut the sleeve (thus my sleeve is still intact).

I've replaced a couple hoses on my BX backhoe. First time it was the bucket hose so fished the lines through the protective sleeve. My suggestion would be to just knock the pin out and retract the boom cylinder to get at the hoses. Much easier. Just yesterday had another one leaking from the boom cylinder. This time the cylinder must come out to get to the lines and those pins were a breeze to knock out.

Just blew the same line about 30 mins ago doing something stupid. Thanks for taking the time to show me what to do.

Fish tape is very helpful to reinstall hoses. Thanks for sharing.

Have you ever had an issue when fully extending the backhoe bucket? When the backhoe bucket is fully extended there is a 90 degree elbow that makes contact with the backhoe. I have had two elbows snap off in like a day.

No never had that problem. Possibly the orientation is not correct?

I would have tied on a piece of rope on the hose when removing old hose. This would have helped when reinstalling the new hose.

This was very helpful. I unfortunately will be doing this tomorrow and now at least I know what I’m in for.

Yea, I've had to do a few of them so far. Unfortunately, the hoses I've had made are a larger diameter than the stock so after the first one, I had to do some re-routing. 😕

notoriousJPG one place I use for replacements is larger diameter and another one is smaller. For any of these backhoe one I’ll definitely be going with the smaller ones.

Thanks for the Video, I did replace the inlet hose from the kubota to the backhoe after I replaced it I lost total operation of the backhoe on the hydraulic, any idea of what could have happened ? (also had the two legs dropped down while I changed it) thanks man

Good chance you mixed up or mis-identified hoses. They have to flow in specific directions. Better double check all are those.

@@notoriousJPG thanks for your reply. I just took the new hose apart and found that the new hose I bought from Napa Auto parts was collapsed inside and didn’t do any flow. Got a new hose and its working great now.

Do you have to add fluid after? Won’t you lose a bit of fluid from the old line ?

Yes, for sure..

Do I have to release pressure from the hydraulic hose before replacing it? How is that done?
@notoriousJPG4 жыл бұрын
Yes as a good precaution. Just move the controls in each direction a couple times in case there is residual pressure in the line after turning off the tractor.

Just cut the old one and worry about fishing the new one in..
