It's not a race thing, almost every culture of people have enslaved eachother in one way or another since the beginning of time. British enslaving the Scottish/Irish, Africans enslaving each other, slavery in Rome and the Middle East, etc.@@gung2549

Neither Meriwether Lewis nor William Clark could speak directly to the Native Americans. They managed to communicate with them using hand signals, facial expressions, and through the use of interpreters. Sacagawea, a Shoshone Indian, and her husband, Toussaint Charbonneau, were interpreters. When the expedition wanted to communicate with the Shoshone Indians, they had to use a ''chain'' of communication that went like this: Lewis spoke in English to Private Francois Labiche. Labiche would translate the English into French and relay the message to Toussaint Charbonneau. Charbonneau would translate the message into Hidatsa, a Native American language, and relay it to Sacagawea.

Shane Gillis' passion for history is awesome. The host of this podcast complaining about modern sensibilities about the indigenous groups without an good joke or knowledge of the difference between Caribbean and continental groups is rough to hear, especially after Shane gave him like three outs to not sound ignant. Dude, I'm from the Caribbean. Give a good joke, don't just lump the entire group together and call us savages and then blame wokeness.

@@yasamanmansoori2789 Wrote this six months ago my dude. I have watched a bunch of their content since then and see their dynamic concerning other topics and contexts. Matt is still an idiot.
