Axes are more of an speedrunning and manhunt weapon swords really are better in an mc world like it's just better bc you have more time to enchant it and stuff axe is an quick Tool which you can use for fighting and mining If you need to on an multiplayer Server like maybe an smp like the Dream SMP And you can pick sharp 5 axe or sharp 5 sword The better thing to pick is both for breaking shields but if you only want one sword is better cause of the enchantments and also the attack speed. So you can basicaly hit 2 times with a sword while only hitting 1 time with an axe so let's say we don't crit so the sword does 22 damage While the axe only does 1 hit which is 13 damage And if you crit it gives you 50% extra dmg which makes the sword go up to 16.5 damage which is doubled which makes 2 Hits Deal 33 damage while an axe (again) whould only get one hit also +50%dmg which makes the axe Deal 19.5 damage So in short Sword for mc worlds or if you have time to enchant Axe if you just want an quick Tool to speedrun or youre busy in an manhunt If your concentration is high and youre focused and can switch fast and you have time i whould recommend using an axe to break the enemies shield and a sword to attack him while his shield is broken and you just repeat thats process until the enemy or you die
