Thank God for the videos of Olivier Latry and this magnificent instrument! We can enjoy them until the sanctuary is rebuilt enough to play it again! I also thank God for what seems to have been the preservation of the organ. I was literally praying the whole time that it could be spared. Now, we'll have to see what has to be done to restore it again. Hopefully, the fire stayed far enough away and the temperature did not damage the pipes, facade or console. Much love and support for Mr. Latry and the staff and congregation.

Tourists wandering about, dressed in shorts, talking, taking photos....it's a church people! Show some bloody respect!

Sadly, this is what you're going to get at Paris's biggest tourist attraction. For proper respect AND one of the greatest organists in France it's best to go to St. Sulpice because the only tourists who know about it are organists.

Visited this iconic church in 1975. It was aswome, but felt I didn't get to see enough of it. When I first stepped in, it was dark as all get out. Took a picture of the famous front stained glass rosette. Brought tears to my eyes to see it burning. This church belongs to the world. It is amazing to know it was and will be used for regular services and not treated like a museum.

When the US was considering allowing the Concorde to land in the US because of its' noise level, then organist of Notre Dame, Pierre Cochereau, wrote an op-ed to the New York Times relating he would have to give consideration to his American students as the decibel level of the magnificent Cavaille-Coll organ at Notre Dame was greater than the Concorde!!

The west forgot how to win. This is how we win. Erect a giant cross, first at Notre Dame, also at ground zero. Also at every school shooting and like defeat. Put JESUS across the horizontal beam, and SAVES down the vertical beam starting with the S in the middle of JESUS. The whole Bible in two words. Ignore satan's demons as they rail against it and frantically tear them down, for they fear the cross with horror & dread. Keep erecting GIANT crosses. cheaply built. Attach speakers with hymns sung by great choirs. Make the last S flicker like neon signs flickered in the old days. No need for clash of arms or armies, great military exercises, just crosses. It will work. It always worked & always will (I won't say how). C'mon, lets get to work. If lowly vagabonds can drag a Cross across the country, then Christians can unite and make great big Crosses that demons flee
