@Tyler and Luke, great show and lots of fun! Thanks for ths insight and work you put in on it! In '88 the last regular season game was also USC at the Colosseum. They were ranked #2, and because in those days we could still kick the ball, we won that one by 17. Maybe they should check to see if that Aussie can kick... As Luke mentioned, instead of probably getting that nice comfy 5th spot, Ohio State probably put the kobosh on Penn State's easiest run. By forcing them to play someone this coming Saturday, they could get a second loss, possibly a bad one, and demotion below the Irish, leaving the comfy pillow to us 'scum-without-a-conference-championship' to obligatorily go to... Go Irish!

As fun as the last 10 weeks have been let’s keep it in perspective the teams they will face going forward won’t give them any gifts. They will need to be as sharp as they’ve been all season to keep this going. They have the ability to go deep but it won’t be as easy as it has been unless they play smart clean football.

AMIL WAGNER... everybody all worried he was 290 lbs and 300 lbs or more... technique coaching heart athleticism worth more thatn 10-15 lbs of fat especially at the college level congrats on a great year ! O line coach has done a great job. we started the season with 6 starts for the line and beat a vaunted Aggie D line ..... great job by Rudolph we have alot of good players coming back...always need QB play by somebody , but alot to be excited about . Lets close with a win or two in the playoffs Go Irish EXTEND MARCUS !!! growing in the job and a class act

I figure this is a safe place to talk about all things ND. :) Does anyone else get the feeling that if MF were to leave ND, it would be absolutely detrimental to the program? He's recruiting as well, if not better than anyone has at ND. What are the chances we could pull in another young, relevant coach to keep pace? I don't think he leaves, and I certainly hope he doesn't, but I am preparing myself for the worst.

Head to Head isn't transient property...common opponents is that. Head to Head is absolutely the tie break for teams with equal records. In situations like when 5 SEC teams all beat each other Head to Head cancels out and you go to resume/common opponents, but we aren't in that boat any more...now its just Ol Miss & Bama vs SC who they both beat.

UCLA held USC to 19 points. Notre Dame did not. A lot of work needs to be done on Defense before the playoffs

USC came to play because ND had more to lose than UCLA. The game was mental for USC. You can't compare the two games.

That was UCLA's super bowl, and Maiava's second game. And Lincoln Riley circled the ND game since he was embarrassed last year. Finally, the USC offense is a legitimate offense with NFL caliber players.

One thought about the loser of a conference championship game. IMO the loser should get an AQ bid ONLY IF the loss isn't their 3rd+ loss OR the losing team, regardless if it was their 1st or 2nd loss, was ranked outside of the top 12 going into the game.

Thanks, Luke for saying it. The last two drives gave them those yards. When USC throws two pick sixes on back to back drives, it doesn't give ND's offense a chance to put up more yardage, eat clock, and keep usc's offense off the field. Not to mention the ND defense essentially went up and down the field nonstop 5 times (you gotta count the two pick sixes when the defense ran down the field and convoy'd for Gray and Watts).

USC offensive numbers are gonna be inflated because they had the ball for almost the entire 4th quarter, and the defense was on the field for 3 drives in a row with the pick 6s. So I'm not really all that concerned.
