When you see 4.7 40 on paper you might think he's a little slow, but this guy is quick and fast, especially for his size, and seems to have a nasty disposition. He's a starter from day 1 and going to be a big outlet for Garoppolo.

Outside of wr and db it shouldn't even be considered unless the numbers are way way off to the point of historically bad. Shit Jacobs ran a 4.6 and you saw him hit a 90+ yard td run against Seattle late in the game when he was tired without getting caught. Wrs vs dbs is the only time a 40 yard dash is really going to come into play and even then it's only on streaks. Way overrated number. Take a look at Jack Campbell out of Iowa everyone was crying about his 4.6 40 but failed to realize he ran with top times at the position in the shuttle and 3cone which is elite so all that speed talk is mostly nonsense anyways outside the two positions I mentioned.

If ANYONE was going to replace Darren, its Michael Mayer. And honestly, this kid is fresh, hes hungry, hes an insanely good blocker which we only saw once here, and most importantly, he isnt jaded. Darren has been injured, unmotivated even after being paid a huge salary, and has low-key been a diva when no one was entitled to take a chance on him after his drug history. That said, i Love his story and what hes overcome, so miss me with the dumb comments like I'm throwing dirt on his name. Im not, I Am saying that Darren is very wishy washy these days, so Mayer coming in is going to give us some much needed consistency at the TE position 💯

Please if you are planning on doing any more tight end vids before the '23 draft, consider Dalton Kincaid from Utah and as a sleeper, a savage named Payne Durham who plays for Purdue. The former is a superb receiving talent and is super athletic while the latter is a 6' 5" and 260 lb. Y in-line dude who isn't as athletic but is an excellent perimeter blocker, a good route runner, has soft hands and trucks fools on the reg. Both are super fun to watch.

He's a great receiver, but the Niners need a freaking road grader who has a little receiving upside and is available in the 5th round. I think that's either Payne Durham or Noah Gindorff. Luke Schoonmaker is another guy who would fit well, but I doubt he'll be there at 157 and I don't think the Niners would use one of their 3rd round picks to get him.

Reminds me of Jason Witten, Robert Tonya, and Kyle Rudolph type TE. There’s a lot of great TEs in this class, but he’s the most natural one I’ve seen in years. Kincaid or Washington could be better than him, they are freak athletes who play TE, Mayer is an all around complete TE. Not just a big wr or blocker. I love how he feels space so naturally especially, he’ll be solid for years.

I can't speak for this guy because I don't know about his blocking, but I wish the media would stop calling people "Baby Gronk" just because they are good receiving TE who is hard to tackle. What made Gronk special was that he was a high end receiver who was also as a good a blocker as a lot of offensive linemen. That being said, I do think this guy will be very good at the NFL level at least as a receiver.

Brock Bowers is an ACE blocker as well as being not only the most talented TE in college football, he's the best player in college football... Bowers can do it all. He can line up as an in-line TE and block. He can be split out wide of the formation and Also can be lined up in the slot. He took snaps away from UGA's Slot wide outs for 2 seasons...He can run the football and take the ball to the house on a jet sweep... He's a TE, H-Back, RB and WR with 4.4 speed. He even played a little quarterback in high school but UGA already had that covered. Your boy is a great player with a great skill set with a fine future in the NFL if he's healthy, but he's no Brock Bowers..Bowers has 2 consecutive national championships, while navigating through the SEC which is college football's best and most talented division, and he's about to help Georgia win third consecutive National Championship in 2023
