You kept saying 1.7 yards per carry against OSU and Michigan…. IU RBs got 4.4 yards per carry against OSU and 3.4 yards per carry against Michigan. If you want to count a fumbled punt against OSU and sack yards, fine by me- but we can’t really make that a commentary on the run scheme, can we? It’s the pass protection that has been an issue for the Hoosiers.
@donaldshotts44292 сағат бұрын
And frankly IU got outcoached vs OS defense. Michigan 2H I'd lay that on the Oline working in a new guy and just being out of rhythm. First half was fine and if they didn't bump the guy on the only Off PI of the season then it's 21-3 at half game over. OS though? No max protects, no quick slants, no wheel routes behind the blitzes, one busted screen I think. Just poor communication, poor playcalling. I trust Cignetti to straighten it out. Louisville had some key turnovers and lost 31-24 ND but outgained them 395-280. They're a step below OS athletically and they don't have that speed outside so IU can easily put 8 in the box. ND kicking is poor too. I think it's a close game

If you watched the film, you would know that IU had no trouble running the ball on OSU. The run stats were demolished by Rourke getting sacked repeatedly to the tune of like -60 yards.
@c.j.462013 сағат бұрын
Delp and Lawson are going to be key in the passing game, but everything will depend on the ability to move bodies up front and run the ball. If Georgia can force them to be more aggressive against the run, Georgia will simplify Gunner's reads and get big plays.

Bro you do a wonderful job at breaking down film but #29 is not the first rounder you’re thinking of. That’s Benjamin Morrison who is out for the year. #29 is a sophomore, #15 is the freshman, #8 is also a freshman at safety. That secondary is young with the exception of #0, watts
@AkshatShekhar-d7b10 сағат бұрын
8’s a soph but what does it say that they survived Morrison being out and actually got better? 15 is an absolute monster as a true freshman and though I’m more pessimistic on 29, guy is coming off a real nagging injury and looked like a Morrison clone before he got hurt. Gonna be a great game

Indiana didn’t get boxed in the run game vs OSU, both backs had 70 yards and averaged 4.5 YPC combined, the problem was the sack yards lost and punt fumble lost which makes the team total look bad, but the backs especially Tyson Lawton actually had good games. If Indiana actually runs the ball instead of drop backs as much they can gash ND. I’m a ND football fan so I hope this doesn’t happen but it def can, and the idea IU ran 1.5 YPC v OSU is preposterous. Watch the damn games fully instead of clips and team stats.

I'm really hoping that Howard Cross III is back for Notre Dame. The three games before he got injured this year he was starting to find his groove like last year, and I believe his presence really solidifies the otherwise vulnerable Dine, even with two edge rushers out for the season with injury. Mills and Cross work real well together in the middle. If you wanna know what NDs D line looks like, watch the Louisville tape.
