No. 22 North Carolina took advantage of the opportunity against No. 4 Notre Dame to earn its first ACC win of the season, 60-50 at Carmichael. The Tar Heels held the Irish to just 28% shooting from the floor in a strong defensive performance that saw Notre Dame score its fewest points of the year. Freshman Paulina Paris was Carolina’s leading scorer with 16 points on 6-9 shooting, 3-4 from behind the arc. 13 of her points came in the second half. Deja Kelly had 14 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists. Alyssa Ustby had a well-rounded game, as she scored 12 points, grabbed 5 boards, and added 2 assists, 3 blocks, and 3 steals. For the Irish, Olivia Miles had 15 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists.
