The hot take at 5:09 actually made an error. During his first FNAF theories, MatPat actually determined that FNAF 1 took place in 1993, not in 1995 or 1997. Also, the real life murders weren’t entirely the reason he said that year for the setting. His reasoning was that the paycheck amount lined up with the minimum wage of 1993, and the date on the check was a Friday in 1993. He gave more proof of this with how in FNAF 2, the night 5 payment amount and the date being a Friday were 100% accurate to 1987.
@Wizardjones699 ай бұрын
Fnaf 1 can also take place in 1992, 1991
@profsrlojohn6359 ай бұрын
For one, I freely admit I misremember and put 95 when I meant 92. As for why I say that, here’s a quick breakdown! The big flaw in matpat’s theory is that he assumes that the player gets paid on friday… with no real basis for it. In fact just as many people, (including myself) get paid on Thursday, not friday. After all, there’s no reason for night 1 to start on a monday, it could just as well be a sunday. He did however correctly calculate the range of 1990-1996. Additionally fnaf 2 we know for a fact ends on november 12th, 1987. A Thursday. As such, it isn’t outlandish to assume that Fazbear, like many companies, pay’s its employees on a thursday. Meaning Fnaf 1 needs to to take place in a year where november 12, is a thursday. 1992, is the only day that happens. Thus, fnaf 1 has to to take place on fnaf 2. Simply put, the math was just wrong. No hate to mat for it, it just is what it is.

Idk if it's a hot take or not... but... even though it's probably not canon, the theory of Mangle being possessed by a dog (or by an animal in general) is my favorite fnaf theory. Is it simple? Yes. Does it have little fnaf lore relevance? Also yes. But I find the concept extremely fascinating in regards to fnaf; and it, to me, makes a lot of sense considering Mangle's more animalistic behavior in comparison to all the other animatronics (plus it would make them even more unique than they are already).

My hot take: Lefte did nothing wrong. Theyre the only pre SW animatronic confirmed not to be haunted. They were built by Henry to do one job, bring back the puppet so her spirit could be freed. It did its job well and Henry still burns them in the end, which is messed up since 1 of the few things we learn about them in custom night is they dont like the heat. Yes they attack Michael, but as established by the other animatronics hes often mistaken for William.

Why can you buy Lefty? and Why is He only 5 dollars? That is so messed up when you think about it. Lefty haves the Puppet in there, Henry's daughter. Why the heck will he not get Mad at you for Letting you buy his Dauther for 5 dollars, and use her on stage as a Robot and Tool for Entertainment, all for 5 dollars, Lefty is worth less than Pieces for Trash, and is the same worth as 6 Paper Plates, but gets Mad and does something crazy when you mess with some Egg Baby and Learn some Blue Prints, Where he locks you in a Basement by him, And were you become Insane, just to hide that Secrets like how the Scooper atractes more Remnent, Women and Ice Cream than Mike ever did in his like what 50 years of living. You can say it's a different model of Lefty that doesn't have the Puppet, Put if so, Why does he have a level 9 Lilability, And Why does Lefty get in the Office gameplay during the Night Shiff after you buy him? All I have to say is that Henry is very Questionable, Lefty is also Questionable but not as much as Henry

Much as I hate robot Charlie, it could've been used as a metaphor for how some parents project onto their children. Maybe Henry has an idealistic view of his daughter and after her death he is so focused on replicating this nonexistent "perfect" child that he neglects his wife and son (leading to sammy's death). And after Sammy dies and a robot daughter just isn't enough he abandons her and dies. Charlie feels guilt about not being enough for him and becomes obsessed with reaching impossible standards to be the perfect daughter. Meanwhile evil Charlie manipulates Charlie and tries to slow her down so that she doesn't catch William. But gradually Elizabeth's soul takes over and she starts rebelling against her father and her bad behaviour starts coming from a place of jealousy. Maybe after seeing the toxic dynamics of William and Elizabeth's relationship Charlie realises that it aligns so much with her own relationship with John and Henry. After finding out from investigation and sammy (the puppet) the truth about her father's crimes and mistakes, charlie learns to stop idolising him and becomes her own person (with support from her friends).

Hot Take: I've said it before, and I'll say it again; Monty should have been the main antagonist for the Mask-on levels of HW2. Not the whole game, mind you, but for specifically the first half before it transitions to focus more on Moon, Cassie's Dad, and of course Glitchtrap and _THE MIMIC!!!_ It both perfectly ties into the theming around Cassie's Dad, Glamrock Bonnie, and could even tie into the theory that Cassie's Dad was the one who trashed Monty between SB and Ruin, if that was explained in a Mask-Off level. He would be perfect for the main threat in the Foxy's log ride levels, and it wouldn't take away from Jack-O-Moon as he still appears in the burning carousel level, and Jacko Moon could easily replace the Baby plushies in the final non-springtrap Fazerblast level. His boss fight could be the final unlocked level in the mask-off segment, a Bonnie Bowl level, where it finally reveals if he was the one who killed Glamrock Bonnie or not (both giving Monty a cool bossfight and giving us our first in-game scene of Glamrock Bonnie not being, y'know, dead), and if so it would be a super interesting mid-boss for the game. Honestly, if nothing else, I'd just want Monty to replace the Baby Plushies or the giant bonnie face that charges you in the bowling levels, just for him to be included in the game at all, with how much wasted potential he has.

Hot take: either Ennard should've been a sperate character or Yenndo should've been given more significance. I remember the days of the SIster Location teasers and how there was a timetable througjout the week for the Funtime's party and maintenance schedules and things like that. We all saw the secret fifth animatronic that was out of service and thought it would be Ennard as seen in the teasers. Then Sister Location happened and we learned that Ennard can't be this fifth animatronic because he doesn't even exist until nights 4-5. So who is this fifth animatronic? Yenndo? If so what's his deal? Where, why, what, who is he? And sure Yenndo doesn't look like anything special but hey, he was probably one of the scariest things in Help Wanted 2. And if Ennard was his full animatronic we could've seen him manipulate or abuse the Funtimes, or could've stuck around for a few more games and then we start the fire. Being Fnaf's next grand antagonist after William and Nightmare and having both Baby in the mix of the animatronics that need to burn makes more sense.

Hot take: Gregory isn't this horrible monster that most of the fanbase paints him as. People mainly hate him because he destroyed the animatronics, but he destroyed the animatronics because they were trying to kill him for 6 hours straight, them being hacked doesn't suddenly make that ok, especially since he never found out why they were trying to kill him, and unlike Cassie he can't get ahold of a Faz wrench which is the only thing that can reboot them(speaking of Cassie why is it ok that she can electrocute Monty and seemingly kill him for good but that's fine because he would have killed her had she not, even though Monty and the others were also trying to kill Gregory, yet somehow only Gregory is in the wrong for defending himself), and he had nowhere to hide because Freddy's room had a camera in it. Also as far as he knew maintenance workers would have arrived that morning and would have repaired them. And to anyone who wants to say he's a cold hearted for saying the animatronics deserved it, keep in mind by the time he said "They get what they deserve" the animatronics had been trying to kill him for 4 hours. I feel like him saying that is completely reasonable and more than justifiable, because again they had been trying to kill him for 4 hours at that point. Who would care about the wellbeing of the same animatronics who had been trying to kill them? Gregory clearly cares about Freddy and his wellbeing, he even risks his life twice for Freddy, but thing about Freddy is that he wasn't trying to kill Gregory. People complain about him having an attitude, even though that makes complete sense when you look his situation because who would be all calm and polite while running for their life, I imagine most people would be a bit snappy. Also he's a kid, kids have attitudes. People want to say he's a horrible person for lying to Freddy about what happened to his friends, but he didn't lie to Freddy he told him that Chica and Roxy had accidents he just left out that he caused said accident. Because who in a situation like that would tell their only ally that they had to destroy their friends? Now I don't think Freddy would have abandon Gregory and went back to his green room and ignored him after that, but again given the situation who would risk that? People say he's a psychopath for killing the therapists, even though he was under the control of Glitchtrap when that happened meaning when he did it, it was against his will(y'know just like the animatronics who people defended for trying to kill Gregory by constantly bringing up them being hacked). People say he's (somehow)a selfish monster for dropping the elevator with Cassie in it, even though it was most likely not him(especially since there is a small generator next to the elevator, what's stopping the Mimic from just smashing said generator?), and even if it was him, he wouldn't be selfish for doing that since if the Mimic is freed it would kill who knows how many people, the Mimic can hack into the Vanni mask that Cassie uses threw out Ruin which basically implanted itself into her brain so if Gregory lets her go the Mimic could easily take control of her and have her do who knows what in order to free it again, and if he couldn't save Cassie then it was either leave Cassie with the Mimic to be ripped apart or lead her to the elevator to give her a quick and painless death by dropping it. Gregory is by no means my favorite character, but I'll never understand why he's so hated. He's just a kid who's trapped in a horrible situation and who just like any other FNAF character we play as just wants to survive, and I do hope he returns in a later installment and we get to see his character fleshed out. Also small nitpick about HW2 that I've seen no one talk about, and that's Roxy shouldn't be on the title screen, she's a Glamrock animatronic all the other animatronics on the title screen with her are Funtime animatronics, she sticks out like a sore thumb. Ballora or Funtime Foxy should have been in her place instead.

@@irysgundam0052 I had to add that not only because I've seen so many people believe that Gregory could just hide in Freddy's room while seemingly ignoring the both the fact that there's a camera in Freddy's room as well as the fact that the other animatronics and Vanessa can easily enter Freddy's room. But I also needed to add that because I knew if I didn't someone would have replied saying that Gregory could hide in Freddy's room when he couldn't. Honestly I wish the game had made it much more clear on why Gregory couldn't hide in Freddy's room since so many people think that Gregory could have done that. Like maybe at the start of the game after Gregory failed to escape have him ask Freddy if he can just go back to his room and stay here for 6 hours. With Freddy telling him no because of the camera.

43:09 yeah I agree with the whole thing that if they don’t make garret the puppet then what’s the point. I get the people who still want it to be Charlie in a way but from a movie timeline standpoint it would be way more satisfying if the puppet was a character we already been established to then one who is just introduced. Garret already also fits some criteria by being Williams first victim. SPOILERS: and the “come find me” at the end of the film would also just hit harder.

Not rly a hot take- but I hateee how some people assume that if you think Monty killed Bonnie that means you hate him for that or think he's a bad character or something. Like Idk about anyone else but for me Monty killing Bonnie (assumedly out of jealousy or something like that) would make him a much more interesting character to me and I'd actually like him more for it cuz right now he seems pretty bland. (Unless he's done something in the books I don't know about- I've only read like the first 2 TFTPP books so far and I haven't heard of him having any major role in any stories yet so I'm gonna assume he doesn't really do anything and doesn't have any character development or anything.)

You, my friend, are 100% right. This would give him some much needed character development. It would make him out to be a jealous and wrathful crocodile, though knowing steel wool, they would probably be like "oh he was being controlled!" which would just reduce what little characterization he actually has, like what happened with Vanny.

@@Zaxon_Rapial Yeahhh I 100% think they're going to go with the "he was being controlled" route. I mainly think that since it's the most popular theory for why he could've done it. Not really a hot take, just a thought of mine. Feel free to put it in the next one if you want! :] After Scott retired it feels like the story (at least for the games) have gotten clearer, which is a good thing. There wasn't ever enough information given before SB: Ruin to do anything besides theorize. Once SB: Ruin and Help Wanted 2 came around and got tied together, I feel like we were given enough information to at least make a vague story being told between the two. It still has theorizing, but the entire story isn't made out of that. Most games before when Scott was involved only had stories made from theories because there wasn't any information at all.

My hot take? The bite of ‘83 wasn’t caused by springlocks. We’ve been wrong this whole time. Why? ‘Cause we know the locks can only go off if they’re in suit mode, but Fredbear was on stage with no one inside, which means he was in animatronic mode, which ALSO means the springs were already in place. Because of this, the bite can’t have been caused by a springlock failure based on the rules established in FNaF 3. Now what killed the Crying Child, then? Well, I wouldn’t know because FNaF isn’t real, but if you go off of Fredbear’s pixel design, it looks like his jaw is a hydronic press since it only goes up and down with no other movement. With this in mind, it’s most likely that the Crying Child got stuck and the press simply pushed down on his head until either his skull cracked or Fredbear broke because his head was in the way. (Fredbear stops moving after the big *snap* sound.) Since the Crying Child was alive long enough to get to the hospital and be hooked up to an IV drip and heart monitor, he most likely suffered from a brain bleed caused by the excessive force being pushed down on his skull, which would have knocked him unconscious. Now with that all said, I think it’s very likely that Scott either: A) Forgot how his own rules work and intended it to be a springlock failure even though it isn’t, or B) Everyone saw that and just assumed it was a springlock failure, and ran with it.

The reason the story has fallen apart recently is due to the fact that Scott's cryptic storytelling makes sense for the old games, since the story we're deciphering already happened years ago. We're just piecing together the mysteries of the past, making for an 'urban legend' type storytelling. But with Security Breach on-wards, the story is happening to the characters we are playing as right now. We know nothing about the characters we play as, their motivations; hell, we don't even know why Gregory was locked at the pizzaplex or why he immediately distrusted Vanny. The cryptic storytelling still works for SB's backplot (I.E. the events leading to the mysterious staff meeting), but having the active plot presented just as vaguely is unacceptable. Also, Help Wanted 2 didn't have a story. At all.

I'ver never actually done one of these before, so here's my hot take: Candy Cadet is simultaneously one of the more important characters within FNAF, but also one of the more misunderstood ones (at least, in the past year or so). I think when Candy Cadet was first introduced, everyone pretty much collectively agreed on the meaning of his stories in Pizza Sim, but since his return in the modern FNAF games, a lot of people have forgotten or even don't remember how he operates. It's not that everything he says is one to one to the story, but rather, the main plot events and morals are what's important. In Pizza Sim, the "five becoming one" relates to the collection of the animatronics and bringing them all together. In Ruin, Candy Cadet's story literally just spells out the Mimic twist five minutes before it happens. And finally, in Help Wanted 2, I believe it has something to do with the protagonist falling under Glitchtrap's control, though I'm still not entirely sure myself. My point in saying all of this is because I've noticed that the more intense FNAF theorist community that we've seen in the past year is taking his stories word for word at face value, when I think that's the complete opposite thing that you're supposed to do. P.S. The Marionxes is the greatest thing ever, actually, and seeing ideas like these makes me wish we had more competant game designers and story writers in charge of FNAF
@creeperflowey29699 ай бұрын
The design/concept of Marionxes is amazing, and more things like *that* need to happen in canon. Taking things of the past and giving them a healthy twist is great, and would help against the modern story feeling really... *unsatisfying.* In case there's a fourth hot take compilation, Phone Dude should've gotten more lines in FNaF 3's calls. Yes, he was a one-off, because Phone Guy's been dead since 199-whatever, but at least let him make comments before playing each tape like he did on Night 2. Maybe use him for extra hints on how to access the minigames required for the good ending. Like, on Night 4, have him say something like, "one of the workers got so annoyed at the faulty wiring that while on a call with the boss, he kicked the wall under the window repeating the supplier's number", thus planting the idea of sticking the numbers from the minigame from that night's automatic minigame into the 9 tiles in front of them. Is it contrived? Probably. Just spitballing.

37:08 That's literally how it be. It's like: Vannessa This woman got brainwashed into killing people and possibly even kidnapping Gregory and brainwashing him so The Mimic can have its new "David" (Edwin's son) "She's innocent. The Mimic will pay for what it's done to her." Gregory A kid who got involved in something terrible unalived his own parents, and therapists *might* have killed his friend against his own will, having 2 years of his life stolen from him breaking out of the mind control to now having to survive 6 hours against animatronics that want rip him and meeting Freddy who's hes only known for a few minutes and now putting his trust into and now freeing the woman who tried killing her FORGIVES her and stops other disappearances from happening seals away the monster that caused this mess in the first place and now having to make hard decisions for a better future for everyone and *might* have dropped the elevator with her friend inside because she might be mind controlled and if he reunites she might kill him and Vanessa so he can't risk that and can't have the mimic going on a rampage with Cassie along its side "This kid is was never controlled he's pure evil!!! He unalived his own parents because he wants to be the new William Afton!! He destroyed Freddy's friends because he was uncaring and selfish!! He doesn't deserve Freddy he doesn't even care about him!!" Yet only Gregory is in the wrong even though the animatronics were all still functioning after he destroyed them, and Monty was no longer functioning after Cassie electrocuted him, yet somehow only she’s in the right for doing that. Wouldn't surprise me if she was killing people while under the control of Glitchtrap just like Gregory, but because she’s Cassie they would automatically give her a pass.

Wanna know something really sad about all that? Leading up to the Curse of Dreadbear DLC for Help Wanted, there was a teased conversation between Glitchtrap and Vanny in the source code on Scott's website. In which the former asks the latter if she has "selected one". Considering what we know in hindsight, this is Glitchtrap asking Vanny if she's found him another follower/host. And we know that the host was Gregory. This means that, by proxy, it's Vanessa's fault that Gregory was even dragged into this nonsense to begin with!
@justsomerandomperson65068 ай бұрын
@irysgundam0052 We can make it even worst. Remember how in Ruin Cassie states that Freddy is Gregory’s favorite out the Glamrocks? Well what if Vanny used Freddy to lure Gregory to her? After all Gregory would not have been willing to follow Vanny to wherever she needed to take him, and if she tried to take him by force Gregory would have no doubt caused a scene and other people would’ve stopped her. So it’s very possible that she told Freddy something like “See this kid? I need you to lure him away and bring him to me.” And since Freddy wouldn’t have been on safe mode at that time he would have of course obeyed her. So all Freddy would have had to do is wait for Gregory to be alone and then start talking to him, and then eventually tell Gregory that there is a fun arcade game or a new attraction that he wants to show him, so Gregory would have followed his favorite animatronic without any hesitation to somewhere he thought was going to be fun only for him to be greeted by Vanny and brainwashed.

I don't think making William a good person before losing his son would've necessarily been a defence of his character. In fact it could potentially work as a cautionary tale about how the best of intentions can lead one to becoming a monster if thsy arent careful. A real road to hell situation. I can see an alternate reality where William was a good man. Eccentric for sure, but with good standing in his community. Then his wife left him to raise three kids, one of which being in his rebellious teen phase. The shock and pressure of the divorce would be where the cracks start to form. He still tries, but he's bitter from the experience. Now he has to work his share of the diner and wrangle three kids with only Henry to keep his sanity. For the most part, William would've kept it together, until the Fredbear incident. That's where he truly spirals, neglecting Liz and berating Mike. After all, it's all Mike's fault. He deserves to be punished. In William's mind, he's just delivering justice. He's still a good person. Just a dad punishing his child. Meanwhile, jealous of Henry's comparatively great life, William sits stewing, self-destructing. Even after his first kill, he's still bending over backwards to justify his awful actions. If Charlie came back as the puppet, maybe his son can do the same. Maybe there's still time. He just needs a few more souls... I think when people want William to start off as a good person, what they're really after is seeing his fall from grace. Sometimes you want a villain who's been evil the whole time. A maniacal bastard. Sometimes you want a villain who became evil through suffering and a series of increasingly bad decisions. William's backstory had so much potential for the latter that for some people, the idea that he was always evil just isn't compelling. That being said, in a franchise with such a large online presence, I don't trust the internet to take a tragic backstory for the character well. Media illiteracy has too often lead to the mere depiction of dark subject matter being treated as glorifying it. The problem I see in William originally being good is the potential controversy from people who don't give the idea a second of critical thought.

47:42 About the MXES, the narrative that could justified it being like that is if they wanted it to represent Michael and his duty as a security guard: Someone similar to his evil father (to the point that the he is confused for his father) but fundamentally different (Glitchtrap is a rabbit, while MXES is a hare) and working as security guard of the pizzaplex.

I guess this is a hot take for me: If Security Breach was ever revamped, meaning they decided to fix the mistakes and not rush it to a definitive version of the game, the truth of what happened to Glamrock Bonnie should be one of the side quests. In another video you had, you even laid out a senario for meeting a ruined version or a withered version of Glamrock Bonnie, yet I think most of us would want the truth if Monty really did it or if he was framed, this coming from someone who believes he did the deed and was going for Freddy next. Also Gregory needs a backstory I think. Sure, one ending says he's on the streets, but to hear it from him, probably would make him more sympathetic and also how he learns so much on tinkering with the robots to upgrade Freddy.

49:19 MXES as a new Puppet/Marionette character would have been awesome! It would also tie in new characters with the old ones, which is a great way of respecting the original characters while letting them to not "come back". After Burntrap's fiasco it would stand out even more! Great video, as always!

Cross posted on the other thread because I worked too hard on it: Hot Take Pt 1: Steel Wool should embrace Storyteller and go full "Dream Theory 2.0, do robots dream of electric sheep?" I hate the conclusion that it's all a simulation- the Fazmatrix if you will- but at this point it might be the best way to write off the whole arc with some of these characters. Because I don't think SW is going to put in the work to reconcile the plot with the barn. PT 2 There are ways to rectify the plot so far, if SW puts in the work though, and this is how I would go about it-- •Put back in cut canon endings so we know the continuity we play in. Really, SW, this is the bare minimum to ask. At least cut scenes. •Make Vanny a bad guy. Cut and dry the virus takes over people's minds and is evil. Not the people, mind you, but the costume and persona. (No Vanny Anti-hero arc, that is stupid. Why would she put that back on willingly? So dumb, unless she is a villain playing both sides, in which case FREAKING COMMIT. ) Then make the hero that overcomes the virus fight with the memory and consequences of their actions. Don't just wave them off. Have internal conflict because it was still done by their hands. Wow. Bare minimum again. (Or actually make the woman in your franchise the big bad pulling the strings, but pretending to be brainwashed. I dare you. Do it. We would eat that up. Cowards.) •Make Jeremy from HW the protagonist of HW2 *AND* Cassie's dad *AND* MXES. No loose threads, self contained tragedy. Clean cut but takes work assembling the puzzle. •Give some sort of redemption arc to Monty and Chica. They deserve it, too. •Make Glitchtrap/VANNI the real menace and Mimic redeemable and just confused and running on bad data. Because as of now, Mimic is at best bland and has no motive or aspirations. And if we are to take the books as gospel (which I don't but whatever) is really misunderstood, neglected, abused... I pity it. •Commit to Afton being "back" or not. Now, with what I just set up it may seem impossible... But it isn't. Let me set it up real quick- Mimic is an old bot that long ago was a child's best friend. They could have been brothers. That child died, but Mimic didn't understand death. Instead of being taught it was abused for grieving and left to rot. Many years pass, and a new group of shareholders in a new Fazbear's LLC seek to rebuild the company and make their fortunes off of the brand. They remember the characters fondly and were likely super fans themselves, but never were directly affected by the murders and wrote them off as heresay. So when they find an old bot that can Mimic but has seemingly no character or purpose, they steal the tech to make the process easier... And then repurpose the bot in the image of their mechanical mastermind idol, William Afton. They can make a 'meet the founder' attraction, with a mimicking robot trained up in his likeness! What a tribute! .... Why is it acting like this? Why is the robot made into the likeness of the late, great, mechanical mastermind William Afton luring children...? Why is he trying to find an old Rabbit costume, obsessed with Springbonnie? Lock it away! And another 5 or so years in the dungeon. After the 30 or more before that. It doesn't know anything anymore... (Never really did. It never had a name. It doesn't understand it killed people, doesn't understand death.) But maybe it's best friend is still out there though. It needs to go find him! That's it. Fixed it.

I really love your hot take, it would've been so cool to see the puppet in a different concept. I think Steel Wool could've come up with this idea too... if only they had rethought the idea of the bad guys (or seemingly bad ones) in the series being rabbits. We've definitely had enough rabbit villains or rabbit characters in general, but I guess Steel Wool is just too in love with William to drop his concept...☝🏻😀 P.S.: Really love your videos, they're very informative and entertaining, sending love❤❤

I think that, yes a lot of the theories we have around fnaf are unconfirmed. We can't take any of them as canon. But I really think that Scott and steel wool are aware of the conclusions and discussions the fan base is having, and are building their stories with this in mind. Either to divert us away from those ideas, or to carve the path that the fans pointed out

My hot take about the five nights at Freddy movie is that Michael should have been Williams's son, but he was taken away from him and was adopted by Abby and Garrett's parents . Garrett got kidnapped by mistake because William was not paying attention to his kid's having Michael immortalized as a little kid in his head. Only releasing after the Mistake was made. Yes, I know that would make Vanessa and Michael brother and sister, but that's how the relationship felt in the movie or to me it did.
@aregularhorrorfan41849 ай бұрын
I remember seeing theories like this when Mike’s dad casting was published and while I thought they were interesting in a way, however I also kind of saw them as copium especially for a movie that seemed to be a more simplified version of fnaf’s story. I have still seen people theorize that mike can still be a afton. However I personally have the opinion that if they didn’t reveal it in the first movie then what’s the point now, especially with how that first movie’s story went.

@aregularhorrorfan4184 Sorry if this sounds rude trying not to be, but more of my idea was not so much making Michael a Afton more of giving a reason for William to remember him. Playing off the idea of William wanting to control everyone/ everything in his life. But Michael was the one person who got away. If that makes sense.

Less of a Hot Take and more of a "Why haven't they've done it yet?" This is regarding the poseable figures, and is that I would LOVE to see FNAF Model Kits, the type of figures where you have to build them from the ground up, the best example I can give are the MegaMan Model Kits made by Kotobukiya. These figures could come with different type of faces and expressions, hand shapes and additional props and they are very versatile for posing , I personally think they would be awesome to have. Love the hot take videos! I Always hear them as background noise whenever I'm at work or when I'm drawing. Keep it up!

21:08 As I understand it, MXES is the security network tied to the node system. The Entity, the glitchy rabbit that stalks you, seems somewhat separate or distinct from it. I think The Entity was supposed to be Malhare/Glitchtrap, what with the Glitchy Purple Bunny aesthetic, the same poses, blue (AKA company-programmed) Helpi mentioning that it was _hijacking_ security protocols, and the design elements seemingly referencing Burntrap, but the monologue near the end combined with the MXES box machine thing sort of gave people the impression that The Entity was created by the box, as opposed to simply inhabiting/infecting it. 30:45 They would have to totally reframe Fredbear's bite and the circumstances surrounding it. The Bite of '87 is "important" because it's the reason the animatronics don't move around during the day, so an animatronic would have to be free-roaming and then bite someone in order for it to have the known consequence. The story we are given in FNaF 4, where some kids go too far and commit animatronic manslaughter, doesn't really fit with that, as the humans are mainly at fault, and the animatronic is just the passive instrument of injury - like pushing someone onto a hot stove, the stove had no agency or fault other than being turned on.

Hot take: I think Burntrap and the Mimic are both good villains. - Burntrap is the remnant (no pun intended) of a serial killer that's fighting to come back. I agree that plucking Afton out of hell is a poor choice, but it's the start of the next villain. We didn't really know if that was Afton or not. The idea of something taking control of Springtraps body or the body of Afton coming back on it's own are two ideas that I think could've worked. -Mimic was just introduced. I've ignored the books because they sound like more trouble then they're worth, so I know nothing about the Mimic. To me, this is introducing a new threat that mimicked Gregory and tricked a little girl into freeing it. He's pretty cool, even if out of nowhere. I like his design and the idea of an animatronic that's actively planning and thinking. This is the Mimic's first appearance. There should be at least one more game of build up to figure out if he's actually good or bad. The biggest issue with the community is they jump to fast in hating a character. You've got to give time for characters to develope, especially with Security Breach launching unfinished. People have a point with Afton coming back, but the Mimic, Moon, and Vanessa need time and not an over-correction or partially unfinished game.

Long time watcher, first time commenter, absolutely love your stuff. You’re without a doubt my favorite FNAF KZbinr, please keep doing what you’re doing for as long as it brings you joy. Not sure how much of a hot take this is, but I don’t enjoy the theorizing. A little bit before a storyline ends is expected and appreciated, but the amount of mishmashing and guesstimating it takes to make a cohesive story out of what little confirmed information we do have for THE ENTIRE FRANCHISE is exhausting. I’ve been in the fandom for a few years now and I still feel like I have no idea what’s going on and it’s hard to even care. FFXIV did “a lot of information and questions unanswered for a very long time” extremely well, and recently concluded their storyline in a satisfactory way that also leant itself to further exploration and new additions, and they also had supplemental info outside of the game that did not detract from the story at large if one chose not to pursue it. World of Warcraft is about as bad as FNAF when it comes to supplemental material being necessary to understanding the full story, but at least we’re not guessing what’s actually true and what isn’t… before retcons, anyway. Like a lot of other comments I’ve read about the general plot of FNAF games, it does seem more and more like the writers are flying by the seat of their pants even this long after Scott had to adapt an actual story into the franchise from the simplicity of the first game. I don’t know how true that is, obviously, but if Scott has some big lore tome somewhere I don’t even care if it proves everything I thought I knew wrong, I just want to read it. I’ll sign an NDA if I have to. Just give me a canon story and timeline that makes sense and stays coherent. Please. Also, fully acknowledging that just about everything we “know” about him is fanon, Michael Afton deserves more love. He does get a lot of it from outside of the story, but if he’s actually anything like his fanon interpretation he’s easily one of my favorite fictional characters of all time and I vehemently demand a spotlight for him in future installments. If he’s not and is actually evil or something… Scott, please, just let me rip the bandaid off.

Hot take: Glamrock Fronnie doesn't make a lot of sense from a story standpoint, since they're, you know, ROBOTS. They're more advanced than most of the other series, but they shouldn't really be capable of that kind of emotion. I can MAYBE understand Anger and Sadness, since they're more "basic" emotions, but love is... well, complicated. You already had to stretch your imagination for most of the game, but it COULD be plausible, assuming fazbear had enough money, but there is NO reason to make robots that advanced to... serve pizza.
@aedaniammx75599 ай бұрын
This is fair, I think it just comes down to how advanced their AIs are. But, considering the technology in the FNaF universe is more advanced than irl, and the Pizzaplex is built in the future, plus the other bots have developed things like eating disorders, self-image issues, whatever’s going on with Ruined Sun, I feel like saying love’s off the table because it’s too complex isn’t ENTIRELY accurate, but could hold some weight

@@aedaniammx7559 Thats one of my main issues with most of SB and RUIN tbh, it took a 180 from horror to sci fi. The only character I liked from either was Monty, just because anger tends to be one of the more basic emotions to replicate. I feel like that's what happened with the main glamrocks, they can REPLICATE emotions, but don't "feel" them, if that makes sense. Chica eats because she's programmed to, monty acts aggressive because he's programmed to be the "Cool one", roxy.... well, I found her overrated tbh. Freddy seems KIND of possible. He doesn't show much emotion other than happy, and isn't the brightest.

People are too harsh on Vanessa. She's heavily abused and traumatized and was forced to murder people against her will. Not saying that how she treats Freddy or Gregory is okay, but honestly I'm impressed that she can function at all considering her situation. Also the hatred people have for her movie counterpart is insane. When Mike does something questionable because of his trauma, he's relatable and a babygirl. When Vanessa does something questionable because of her trauma, she's a b*tch. The misogyny is wild y'all

Hot take: I actually despise the Mimic. Not really based on principle, but an animatronic that can perfectly mimic voices in a series that relies mostly on audio tapes is a recipe for disaster. If it is revealed that the mimic was alive in the original series, then Nothing in the tapes can be trusted anymore because the devs could just make up some flimsy reason for why the mimic was the one who said it. I can smell the potential retcons from a mile away. And this series has so many retcons and misinformation anyway, and this is just going to add fuel to that fire.

Did they burn the security puppet down into the regular puppet? And thats assuming that fnaf 6 takes place before fnaf 2 which obviously isnt true because theyre seen in the same game, one as lefty and one as the regular puppet. Sometimes this series makes complicated topics that can be explained awayby something that kind of makes sense, but is just accepted because its too hard to think abt Also glamrock Bonnie was not interesting at all, Idc he dead, he don't even got a voiceline Btw i subbed after watching the fixing security breach lackluster areas vid♥️

Tangle was named after the Mangle-based Enemy from FNaF_World. Just like the RUIN DLC is basically FNaF_World. “Prototype Freddy” is based on the enemy “PROTOTYPE”, as well as the Glamrock Endos possibly being based on those same Enemies. Vanny’s costume is the “White Rabbit” enemy The cave in RUIN might be referencing Old Man Consequences’s Lake? The Red King in PQ I, II, III, and IV might be OMC as well. Chica’s Magic Rainbow has returned to being Canonical again.
