⚠️FACTS: They made history by being the FIRST Kpop group to perform. Jisso injured her back really bad, & could barely move the day before because of the pain. She also cought the flu, & was running a fever on the 1st day. BlackPink also had the biggest crowd on both days. The head honcho of the whole Coachella event, flew to Korea to personally invite the girls. The band is the same YG band that has performed with them through their tours & performances. They are amazingly talented. If you watched the “Dududu” Remix, you know what I mean.

@@milkyuuu6170 They said in an interview they don't mind how they're classified as. And Tablo was once interviewed about kpop in a BBC interview. Kpop as a category is interpreted by people in two ways: Pop music from Korea OR as an umbrella term for all popular (adjective not the genre) music from Korea. If you want to be specific, yes, they are generally khiphop, but they also dabbled in other genres as well. Also, many groups/artists in Korea are known to mix and match genres, or change genres every comeback. So sometimes it's futile to insist in categorizing them strictly. That's why, in my original comment, I added "if you don't classify them as kpop," because I know some people don't and some people do. This has been a neverending debate.
