They never mention people by name but I know both he & RM went hard after the critics who accused them of selling out by leaving the underground rap scene to be in BTS. Their former friends were saying they must not be real rappers anymore. RM & Agust D were slightly pissed off & because their company, BigHit, allows their artists actual artistic freedom.... they got to respond. Their first mixtapes are more about their struggles back then. RM was having more of a struggle over his identity. Suga was just straight pissed & pouring his soul out. They're fantastic humans.

Daechwita is music that is played when the king arrives… an honor or respect thing… it’s the first instrumental we hear with the title screen. Not sure if you realized bc you were new… but both Main characters are both played by Agust d who you know is yoongi from bts…. Also those guys that bumped into yoongi in the beginning were Jin and jungkook from bts which is why they had a little cameo part… jin with facial hair looks so different 😂 so basically we see in the beginning it opens with 8 bodies under sheets with no heads… flips to current yoongi who is on top of the world… he’s confident, knows his worth, and has found another way to deal with his struggles by remembering who he really is to the core and not letting anybody take that from him no matter what bc he’s secure with himself and his path. The king is a tyrant who forgot what community means.. we saw current yoongi talking with street market people and his friends he starts the song out with vibing… and I think that’s also part of why jin bumps into him… bc his old self would take that tiny moment and escalate it by retaliating he just brushed it off like it didn’t happen. We see the king up on his thrown bc he’s the one at the top …. Better than everybody so much that there’s literally not one person around him that he seems to have any contact with… the king is isolated…. Only company he keeps or people he talks to are the people worshipping him in the earlier part with the black hooded figures they’re all bowing to him but still he crouched down and is verbally attacking those worshiping him and disrespects to the point of jumping and standing on one of the backs of who are supposed to be his people… and considering there were 8 bodies in the opening then he must kill ppl for minor things… and no one around him would cause paranoia. The only interaction we see the king have is him opening one of those boxes of heads he has up on his balcony… and he raises it up to show it off even though there’s no one there to see but him. Current yoongi comes to challenge the king… rides in with his boys… his supporters and his people backing him… and even the king initially likes him and gives him the thumbs up like gladiators or maybe knights? I can’t remember which but basically he judges and gives him a thumbs up… but current yoongi came to challenge him. I’m sure you didn’t catch it the first time but yoongi went to a shop in the market area and someone gave him car keys… and there were other people in there seeing what’s going down… so he takes the car from someone else and goes in to challenge the king bc the ppl are tired of tyrant king…. So even though he gets his thumbs up… he’s really there for everyone… all the kings people…. So he steps forward to challenge … gets taken and tied up bc he’s gonna be be headed …. The guy sets yoongi down and he starts bowing his head singing daechwita and you can see that the king isn’t watching at that point… he’s off practicing alone and having someone else do his dirty work for him…. But when yoongi get started bowing his head singing the kings entrance song… we see all the black shrouded people that were bowing to the king and they’re now bowing with yoongi … it’s showing he has the respect of the people …and an interesting thing is the king does a sword dance kinda thing but it’s also what the executioner is doing… and the moment the guy should chop off yoongis head… the king at that moment makes that same head slicing swing of his sword but at nobody…. Bc he’s that far removed from it and any other people and is truly alone. But yoongi is cut free… and the man who hands him the gun was actually on the street market earlier he waved to konda… and also in the shop they got the car keys from…. Basically showing that this was planned and not just yoongi but that he’s got all these people behind him and he’s earned their respect and love….. so he was never in danger… it was set in motion from the start. Also yoongi takes a gun to shoot the king… the newer style of weapon taking out the old… just another symbol of getting rid of that insecure , tyrant, paranoid part that would strike first and ask questions later… bc he found his people and they’re following him out of choice… and with that… out with ancient mindset and bringing in a new era. That’s just my take from a lot of things I’ve watched or read about this… so much to unpack regardless

The “popping pills” bit can be related to the fact that a lot of artist on the industry (both kpop and hiphop) who constantly talked about their genius and their lyrics had scandals about using illegal substances to make them “be more creative” or help them write their songs, quite a lot of people have been accused of this and it’s really frowned upon on korea considering all drugs are illegal and they can give you prison years even if you used them outside of the country, it’s an specially delicate topic with idols due to their images being constantly analyzed and judged, and the use of these substances can (and has) end careers
