Hmmmm interesting, you chose to sacrifice range for pen (secondaries), I’ll make sure to try this build, my only doubt is that I don’t see a superintendent, I often find myself using all those heals so having -1 can be an issue as I have a very aggressive play style in my bb’s, lack of concealment means that if the enemy focuses on you, you have less chances to successfully disingage by vanishing, or that the enemy will see you coming from further away

i use the same set up, it didnt really work so much, but if you change fire prevention for AFT it really change your game... fire prevention doesnt give a real change if you know how to use your repair kit properly but AFT give you alot more room combine with IFHE !!!! thx for the tip notser !

would you still recommend this no AFT build? im just at the alsace and sadly i only have a 14 point captain yet but i m kinda struggling with my build atm. i m using aft and manuals but you really feel that missing ifhe but i dont want to invest into manuals ifhe AND aft either because its such a HUUGE point investment for situational stuff. i kind of like the idea to keep secondarys a little closer but get ifhe and fire prevention or ce aswell

@Zbriu Dude, GK is COVERED in 128 mm guns. 128 mm HE with special German penetration is just short of penetrating 32 mm of armour (remember that penetration needs to be higher than the armour value to actually penetrate). 32 mm armour is everywhere on battleships. So, no, IFHE is abso-fucking-lutely NOT useless on the GK. It's the difference between only 20% of your secondary fire able to pen a battleship and 100%.

If only secondary builds were more cheap (at least 8 points for AFT and Manual Secondaries And 4 points if you pick IFHE) and the secondaries were more useful and reliable, maybe it could be justified to go secondary build ships German BBs should get a decent boost to their playability and ships like Bismarck and Tirpitz would receive a much needed help Then after The overall improvement of how secondaries work, then we could look from ship to ship and see where to improve

@ArmchairWarrior What nonsense are you babbling about? Are you the type of BB player that yolo's in and gets killed in the first 2 minutes of the game? If so, then you are a major problem when it comes to random matches (along with idiot DD players who do the same). There are times of course when you need to disengage to stay alive and having better concealment always helps with that - even when planes are about. You hold for your fire for 20 seconds and hopefully you can avoid being set on fire or whatever for the 4th time in 2 minutes so you can heal up, or let your damage control come off cool down. In certain ships which are not very nimble, having better concealment can keep you alive. Obviously if there are enemies in really close, you have no choice and have to just keep fighting and go down slugging - but if you are about 13-15 km away, you have a chance of dropping off concealment and healing up. If you chose to go without concealment expert, that is something you lose - and it is your choice to play it that way. Personally, I have tried both and find it is better to have better concealment for just those situations I described because the longer you are alive, the longer you guns can deal damage and deny the other team points.

i think the repub will be the ultimate counter to the russ BB. Since they can flank so easely and the russ BB's get powned in a crossfire.

Not a fan of IFHE on secondarys. The greater chance of Fire with DE on capitol targets is much more useful. The secondaries already eat up light armored ships. Remember secondarys target mid ship most of the time. You will not be hitting bow or stern consistently. Superstructure is your primary damage source.

152 mm secondaries on the JB are all pointing to the aft, the 100 mm ones will only ever cause fires (with IFHE they can barely pen DDs), and to make the most of your 380 mm main battery you're going to need Expert Loader because at Tier 9 you can hardly overmatch anything and will constantly need to switch ammo types. So this specific build will probably be sub-optimal for the JB. Anything that works on the Richelieu and the Alsace works on the JB, though.

am gonna disagree with this build (its me don't worry notser :) ) for me IFHE on repub is bad, repub secondary trademark is that high fire chance, dropping it makes it weaker imo, your main dmg source is still the main guns, secondary is only for setting fires while you unload AP on them, but yes, repub is a jack of all trade ship, can go from sniping to mid range combat easily, remember repub is a semi conqueror and semi yamato (GREAT fire chance and can overmatch any cruiser on bow except for the BALANCED STALINGRAD and Moskva) and can beat anyone if you play it right. but super close range? nope, even with FP youll still get rekt by raw HE shells. repub is not a tank, its a sniping BB to flanking BB

Republique has 32mm Armor all around, but GK is the tankiest ship with 50mm everywhere.

@@zachdakilla951 Yes, Republique is like a mix of Yamato and GK. Which, along with speed, makes it extremely strong. But it can't beat Yamato at long range or GK at close range. It's extremely versatile.
