Because carni is traditionally about soca. However they playvloads of reggae. There are 40 soundsystems on the inside the float route

70s and 80s reggae..also 60s ska and rocksteady should be included.this event celebrates jamaican ,Caribbean music culture.so where is the ska.

Because the Notting hill carnival = Soca calypso samba funk soul and reggae. It is after all a Trinidad & Tobago thing started by Claudia Jones from Trinidad & Tobago. Great britain is a multi cultural country and this event celebrates jamaican,carribean culture and music.i think it's brilliant.except for the rubbish in the streets,urinating,overpriced food.more bins needed,portable Loos.but If you love the music and the vibes and the people as much as I do ,then what the heck..soak it up and enjoy the atmosphere the friendliness,and the fact that people are getting together to enjoy something they all have in common...great music,lovely food ect..
