Kathmandu valley, previously known as Nepal was a lake, after cutting southern hill it became able to reside as valley. But the swoyambhu, where you are going to, is the land already existed on the hill, before valley. Monkeys were resid!nts of the hill and are up to now

Nah monkey were probably brought there like many other places in Kathmandu valley and those monkeys just breeded like crazy. Monkeys weren't residents of the hills.

It was a god manjushree who cut the lake & started civilisation in Kathmandu valley. In Kathmandu nowadays in Nepal Hinduism & Buddhism don't matter. Both religions are intertwined with each other. Except Tibetan Buddhism. To simply understand visit the living goddess Kumari. She comes from Buddhist religion but worshipped by Hindu & Buddhist both mostly hindu coz she is the incantation of goddess Durga. Those 13 rings are 13 chakras. Everyone knows 7 chakras right. Even science tells us these glands exist in our bodies but the remaining 6 chakras are beyond our understanding. Anyone who understands them gets enlightenment.

You know the same religion can be observed & followed differently in every countries. Let's look at Hinduism in India & Nepal it's completely different in many ways. Do you understand that? Now Tibetan Buddhism's main difference is the Dalai lama. In Nepali Buddhism they do not worship or follow Dalai lama. I am not going into detail for your own R&D. Stop using words like profiling & sh!t. It makes you d@mb In front of people who look at the world from different perspectives.

@@Dusk_hunter There is nothing called Tibetan Buddhism and Nepalese Buddhism.. There is three sectors of Buddhism which are Theravada( the way of elders), Mahayana( The big vehicle) and the Vajrayana also known as Tantrayana. These are the only Buddhist sectors mostly known in the world. Newari tradition Buddha dharma and Tibetan tradition Buddha dharma falls in the same category which is Vajrayana or Tantrayana. There is also big Newari community who follows Theravada. I don't know which community you are from but Newars and Tibetans have long relationship from early common era. There are many Newari and Tibetan mixed family in Kathmandu and Patan. I know many of them and their Children and Grandchildren are natives of Kathmandu. They are raised in both Tibetan and Newari cultures. There is not such thing called Nepali Buddhism. Yes there is Himali Buddhism which is also Vajrayana Buddhism. Nepali people mostly Hindus talk about Buddha dharma randomly without containing the knowledge or without studying. They say stuffs what has been told by their Pundits, pujari, parents and friends about Buddha dharma. When I was growing up , they used to say Buddha dharma is nothing but Bhote and Newar dharma. There are still Nepali people out there who has same mentality. They like to collect revenue in the name of Shakyamuni Gautama Buddha's birthplace and the Buddhists holy sites in Nepal but at the same time they show prejudice, bigotry and oppression on Buddha dharma in Nepal. PS, Dalai Lama is Tibetan leader of Tibet, He is known as their king who ruled Tibet for many years and that's why Tibetan see him as a Bodhisatava just like Nepali people used to think Nepali king as a Hindu god " Narayan" so there is no difference on that. Your post shows how bias and bigot your brain is.
