Try thinking like this brothers snd sisters. That doing good deed without the prying eyes! When no one knows what you did, they won't praise you and you likely wont have a "high" feeling when u do good. Because think it as a way that the good deed is something of your duty, not voluntary. When you start to think good deeds are your duty towards islam and allah, you won't think it's a good deed anymore and think it only as an obligation. Your intention will then only be to fullfil your duty towards allah. Perhaps that is much better than doing it for the sake of titles.. when someone tells you "Masha Allah, brother/sister you are so generous, kind!", don't feel praised, tell them back that its your duty as a muslim, its their duty too and they should be doing it as well. Even as small as a smile is considered a charity, forgiving others for the sake of allah is charity.. you don't have to spend money for amal..

Ask Allah for forgiveness and try your best to only please Allah. He WILL forgive you if you're sincere, He is Ghafoor ur Raheem. Remember that Allah is not like us. There are no limits to His Mercy and Love. Do good deeds in secret that no person will ever know about, such as secret sadaqah. Make sure you never tell people though. Sometimes sins can lead people into the straight path. Never accept hellfire as your destination. Insha'Allah the guilt you're feeling is the first step to redeem yourself. Use that guilt to do good but never give up. There'll be no true peace of mind if you ever give up. Even the Sahaba made mistakes but they did not give up.

This is a stark reminder of how we should behave. So many people show off their achievements to the dunya and people around them so that they can feel above them. Showing off is a major sin. Especially when the intentions are wrong. They don't do it for the sake of Allah (SWT) They do it to praise themselves. Only The Almighty knows what's in your heart and what your real intentions are. Be honest and humble.

Doing the deed for worldly pleasures without the good intention is what the sin is. Giving charity for the title of generosity instead of doing it for the pleasure of Allah swt is the sin. Good deeds are good when the intention is good, Allah knows best.

Then you'll understand the real intention However we must always remember that sins we do will keep decreasing the Amal, displeasure of Allah will wipe out the Amal so keep on hoardings good deed! Secret good deeds! One that only is between you and the person who receives so when Allah calls you only he knows what you have done, because you feared that if others were to know that, you fear it won't be a good deed anymore.. that is how you stay true towards the path of righteousness.
