Well done, Sinner. He played very well. After the retirements of Djokovic and Nadal, Tennis will remain exciting. Alcarez, Sinner, Medvedev & Zverev have a lot to achieve. Djokovic is still the No. 1 player in the world. He will do well this year.

Sinners way of 'slapping' the ball generates so much unique power (and sound). It was cool to see Djokovic try it too (to success in that point) around 3:34 or so. Could lead to awesome rallies, if not already ... Haven't been following tennis too much for some time (but may be starting!)

The shot executed by Sinner 6:18 is truly remarkable and far from easy. Having to sprint from the baseline, he barely reached the ball and managed to deliver a winning shot.

Absolutely unreal. Beating Novak at AO especially with his improved game is almost as difficult as beating Rafa at Roland Garros. But Sinner deserved this.. Absolutely phenomenal performance. Olympus has fallen
@bubufubu11 ай бұрын
"Almost as difficult as beating Rafa at Roland Garros"? No. It's not even remotely close. Nadal is otherworldly at Roland Garros. Nothing else compares.
@z1az28511 ай бұрын
@@bubufubu actually you are correct, when healthy nadal is close to unplayable at RG in all conditions (2020,2022) and during the day. Djokovic is the opposite, he is unplayable in night matches but even then he has been beaten at night multiple times.

So tired of the Djoker and all of his antics, drama,fake illnesses, shady bathroom breaks and his mystery drinks. He loses and he doesn't give credit to the opponent he says he "didn't play well". He actually goes so far as to say it was his worst performance in a grand slam. I hope retirement is soon.

Sinner be like: ALL THAT FOR A DROP OF SET?
@EE-bg1de11 ай бұрын
This moment felt alot like a young Federer beating Sampras at Wimbledon. Sinner pushed him with deep physical ground strokes and variety. Incredible performance. Not facing a single break point against the GOAT, is remarkable.
@EE-bg1de11 ай бұрын
Folks dont understand what that Pace and Depth do to you early in a match. It PUTS YOU ON EDGE. Combined with your opponent being able to get to everything. Results: Unforced errors start piling up in a hurry. Not to mention it took Sinner 2 full sets to 'drop' his level even a little. Kind of reminds me of Prime Del Potro at the US open, how fluid he moved, defended, and the depth of his groundstrokes. The fact that he kept his cool and didn't mentally succumb makes Sinner a Truly Rare player in the last 20 years.

@@stvnjr2127 Sono italiano anche io, lo avrei corretto in un secondo momento, ma volevo capire con che accezione possa venire usata quest'espressione da un anglofono. Dovessi tradurre in inglese il "buon appetito" tipico italiano, direi "let's enjoy our meal". Non ho ancora capito se volesse dire che Sinner fosse certo di vincere e si stesse "sfregando le mani" in proposito, per dire.
