Jannik's key to success was his ability to return Novak's serves! He made sure that almost every service game of Novak's was a struggle! Over that, Jannik was serving incredibly well..! Sinner has a new coach and he's really good. He was the coach of Lleyton Hewitt when he became the youngest number 1. Then he also coached Andre Agassi and he became the oldest number 1 during that time. In this match, Sinner played like Hewitt on defense and played like Agassi on offense. That's how to beat Djokovic by giving him a dose of old school tennis.

Just read that Novak had a flu lingering in him. He was sick. But it was his over-confidence caused his downfall in what supposed to be his 25th Grand Slam. He engaged himself in too many activities, for example, running the Djolovic Charity Event. He ran himself down, perhaps fatigue and stress which led to flu -he could only take so much and his body's immunity was weak. Off-focused and worn-out. He himself had to blame for his loss. I am a fan of him, for your info.

Sinner FORCED uncomfortability and FORCED Djokovic to create unforced errors. Last year was only an indication of how strong Sinner made himself to be so he can put himself in positions like this. Great performance by Sinner, and as always, Novak a class act at the end. I've never been a fan of Novak (Federer guy here), but here's a massively important match, Novak didn't play his best, and he goes up to the net and is, as always, so magnanimous and congratulatory.

Sinner take a bow....What a performance.....He came to the match riding high on his scintillating victory against Rublev....Didnt expect him to rattle Djokovic so early into the match....Well he did what can be considered to be arguably the second toughest thing to do in Tennis - Beat Djokovic at AO Semi.....Djokovic was far from his best but Sinner's blistering shots and powerful serves never allowed Djokovic to find any rhythm at all....Sinner can win the whole thing.....

Djokovic's serve might have started off being shaky, but it improved as the match went on. Otherwise, he was simply outplayed in every way by Sinner. Remember, Sinner has beaten Djokovic 3 out of the last 4 times they've played. That's not a fluke.

Djokovic's first two sets were very poor for his standards but Sinner gave him absolutely no chances and outplayed Nole from every aspect of the game. I would love to see Sinner win the Australian Open this year since he took Nole out of his turf and ended his incredible winning streak.

Sinners way of 'slapping' the ball generates so much unique power (and sound). It was cool to see Djokovic try it too (to success in that point) around 3:34 or so. Could lead to awesome rallies, if not already ... Haven't been following tennis too much for some time (but may be starting!)

Folks dont understand what that Pace and Depth do to you early in a match. It PUTS YOU ON EDGE. Combined with your opponent being able to get to everything. Results: Unforced errors start piling up in a hurry. Not to mention it took Sinner 2 full sets to 'drop' his level even a little. Kind of reminds me of Prime Del Potro at the US open, how fluid he moved, defended, and the depth of his groundstrokes. The fact that he kept his cool and didn't mentally succumb makes Sinner a Truly Rare player in the last 20 years.

If anyone remembers, this match is very similar to the Djokovic v Federer Australian Open 2016 semifinal. This was where Djokovic completely dominated Federer in the first 2 sets, then Federer came back and won the third, and then lose in 4 to Djokovic. Very similar match, this time, Sinner dominated Djokovic in the same fashion and similar scoreline. Not facing a single break point, that is absolutely crazy against the best returner ever.
