TheBakeroot Hayato did say that in order to pilot the robot's, you had to be skilled or insane. Combine that with a pilot whose constantly called "batshit crazy" and it stands to reason that their robots have to look evil.

They're awesome in fundamentally different ways. Ryoma is exemplary badass in a classical meaning of the word. A hero from the legend. A berserker who can take on pretty much anything with his bare fists, and becomes plain unstoppable in Getter-1. Kamina, on the other hand, is a more grounded badass, he's badass exactly because he posesses no extraordinary powers but acts as if he was an invincible demigod. He knows about his mortality, but he is eager to play the role of a hero to people he's attached to. Though he's just a man, he can accomplish a lot and inspire other people to even greater acts.

The writer for TTGL helped work on Getter manga previously, and what happens in the manga and hinted at in the OVAs is what happens in the prologue of TTGL: entire galaxies are against them (they even use time travel to try and stop Getter as well).

Factual is two galaxies together really don't make a big bang. But factual is if the machines name alone has the power to quake a universe. I think that trumps it when his name alone is as powerful as a big bang.

Of course, not counting any added energy from bursting through other galaxies. Besides, we're talking Spiral Energy here, AKA Fighting spirit. As long as they have ass to kick their energy is infinite.

@ChReNiC Every source I look st says it is just the power of evolution and fighting spirit can help trigger evolution in things. But like I said we would need the Emperor to have be either an enemy or an unseen force mentioned since he is naturally an enemy to things that live since he absorbs everything. If they were to fuse then who knows whether the fused being would take that part of its nature and absorb as well.

Getter Emperor appears in Getter Robo Go's manga and Shin Getter Robo's manga and some others. It can absorb anything and everything it comes in contact with, including the pilots. Only Ryoma can pilot it because he's just that badass. I love STTGL, but Getter Emperor was DESIGNED to be invencible, as it does serve as a pseudo-moral-antagonist since it will eventually end the universe. Ryoma even goes as far as trying to get away from the Getter as he discovers that in Shin Getter Robo.

Size can only be a visual not a denfinite on how powerful someone is. It can only be used to gauge some of its strength but not all. Like how emperor was only as big as mars at first.

The difference comes down to energy type. Spiral Energy is the pure power coming from the will to advance, given the possibility to do so (ie no beastmen), Getter is more akin to the need for the energy to advance/evolve, no matter the cost. In other words, yes, the Emp is stronger, but it is more possible that they would channel Spiral energy themselves to stop the Emperor from absorbing them, and the Emperor could become Spiral-powered instead of Getter-powered and stop absorbing shit.

And spiral energy is more along the lines of 'will to live', which would explain how Gurren Lagann's Giga Drill alone could stand to a 100 billion light years-antispiral giga drill. Now think of how Getter Rays and Spiral Energy are almost the same; Simon and Ryouma producing metric shittons of each other's signature energy.

I'm sorry, I hate to jump into this "My favorite series is better than yours argument" but I have to point out a big part of the gurren lagann series was there ARE no limits, the only limit is one you set for yourself, so as long as Simon and everyone else stayed pumped up, then there was nothing they couldn't do, so I think if they both have limitless energy then that any fight would probably be a draw
