hello!! i have a question. if you take your check money out what do you keep in your bank account? i want to do this but i do not want to keep my bank account completely empty. thank you!

So when I first started I didn’t have a buffer so I left whatever change in there. So say for instance my check was 750.58 I would leave the 58 cents in there. A bank account won’t close if there is something in there. Then I started setting aside money for a buffer for my bank account 10-25 a paycheck that I would leave in the bank. Over time it will build up.

ive been cash stuffing and its great but can someone help me understand what exactly are sinking fund? is it leftover money from a category (groceries, gas, etc) or it the categories you're saving your money in (car insurance, new phone saving?)

A sinking fund is anything you’re saving up for or maybe a long term goal. It can also be anything you want it to such as envelopes that you don’t always pull money from like Christmas etc
