Very nice collection of colors. We have the same taste in inks. I love my browns and greens. Thanks for sharing.

Oooh this grouping is so fun and autumnal! I definitely understand the full bottle temptation for Witch, what a beautiful ink. I also liked the blue one, it reminds me I've got to get out a more tropical ink for the (Southern Hemisphere) summer.

Your Pelikan looks gorgeous, I hope you can eventually solve your issues with it. I recently got a standard M200 Black-Green and the purchase experience was terrible. The the nib would tear the paper from misaligned tines and I could not manage to fix it by realigning them. The replacement had a similar problem as the previous one, but in this case I could realign the nib and now it writes fine. Not super duper smooth like people say about Pelikans, but at least is OK. Both were very wet nibs (I would describe them more like a western ). One thing that surprised me is how when capped it is the size of a Sailor PGS/Jinhao 82 but uncapped it is quite longer.

I bought the Monteverde Dakota in Raw Flame too!!!! It's my first more expensive pen and I am sooo happy with it! I am thinking about getting it in the Black too! I really like the weight as well. 😄

It’s a great pen! I’m so glad you love it! 😊 I love the weight too, it is perfect for a smaller pen!

@mydandeliondiaries Thank you btw! If it wasn't for your witchy ink video, I would have never known there was an ink called Hecate!!! I now own it and it's home is a Twsbi Eco. I'm brand new to fountain pens and inks. Your ink videos are my favorite!!! Very knowledgeable videos!

Love the green twisbi. I’ve heard others say they have similar experiences with the M200 series so maybe it’s a problem with that model
@mydandeliondiaries2 ай бұрын
It's definitely a bummer that some people have had issues with that model. I think it is a quality control problem. Such a shame that they don't seem to take feedback from their customers.

This makes me so relieved to hear. I bought the M205 in Apatite last year and hated it. I bought a second nib from Endless pens and it works a tad better. It makes me hesitant to ever buy any other Pelikan pen.

Hello! What have you done with the nib of the Pelikan to improve it and what are you planning on doing? Just curious, because I love a bit of nib tuning 😅 Love the video as always! The Nostalgic Honey is a dream 🧡🧡🧡

I took a brass sheet to the tines to help with the flow! I also used a 10x magnifier to look at the tines and had to slowly push them into a better alignment. My next steps are going to be using micro mesh and mylar papers. Hope that helps!

Agree about Pelikan pens and other $175 and over pens as well. The manufacturers are not fine tuning their nibs before sending the pens out to retailers. My $3.50 Pilot Varsity and $5.00 Preppy write much smoother than my Pelikan Souveran , my Montegrappa Elmo 2 , and both my Leonardo Momento Zeros. You retailers who read this need to get on these manufacturers to tune their nibs properly. Customers need to either boycott or send pens back so retailers get the message. I myself am refusing to buy anymore expensive pens!Who cares if a pen is pretty if you do not like the way it writes? Customers SHOULD NOT have to pay an additional $30-$60 to have an expensive brand new pen tuned. Sorry for the diatribe but you’re the 3rd vlogger to diss the Pelikan 200 for the lousy nib. Love that Nostalgic honey ink BTW. It’s a great shader and works well in a Faber Castell Hexo, another inexpensive pen that writes better than all my pricier pens.

Hear hear, my worst pen is my 350.00 Pilot Custom 823. My first gold nib is a flop and just makes me depressed that now I have to pay more and wait. Find a nibmeister and send it off. And that's not the only pen... I will tell you River City Pen Co makes my favorite pens. I have two from him, a bock B and jowo BB and they are BUTTER. Can't recommend them enough and actually worth the 190 ish. He will make it right if it's not, great owner.
@PenMaiden562 ай бұрын
@@AlongfortheThrillthanks for info I only plan to buy from those people. The retailers will also make it right but again you shouldn’t have to send a pen back from a manufacturer. They’ve been making pens long enough to know they need to fine tune their nibs
@AlongfortheThrill2 ай бұрын
@PenMaiden56 that's the dream, but gosh some of the retailers aren't even wanting to make it right anymore....

I am also pretty unhappy with my Pelikan M200 which is a huge bummer due to the price point. It's funny, because the INEO nib is just absolutely fabulous and it's a much lower price point.

As someone new to inks and pens, how can you tell if a particular pen and ink will be a good match? Also ride a bike everywhere, any suggestions for storage (sleeves?) to keep like 3-5 pens safe and not leak?
@mydandeliondiariesАй бұрын
I would look at which pen/ink you're wanting to pair and see if it has been done before. Personal preference can be a big factor on how you like to write. I personally enjoy a good flowing pen with a good flowing ink. German/Western pens usually have a broader nib line so I can pair dryer inks with them and still get a satisfying writing experience. As for storage, check out Rickshaw Bag Works! They have excellent pen cases that I think would be perfect for putting in a backpack/pack while riding a bike. There are several options from them too.
