Awesome Tim! This is very motivating! It goes to show you no matter how long you've been trading or size account you have you still can fall prey to the emotional side of trading. No one is immune to it. It keeps you humble. Thanks for this insight. Keep up the good work brother.

Full disclosure, its refreshing. At least you show all your profits and losses, unlike many out there, good job Tim. It's a hard job. If it can happen to you, it can happen to anyone, eventually it does.

Thanks for this post. I'm also improving on my spreadsheets all the time. I should have had some spreadsheets before I even started trading but you always learn more as you go along.

Tim, these kinds of posts keep me going, I realize I don't have to be a perfect emotionless robot, but just keep trying to do better and don't get down on myself. I just lost almost $400 on a +40% spike by trading with fear...wtf. Lol.

Hi Tim, First of all, Congratulations on the weading! now, thankyou for sharing this with us, it really helps to know what you think when you got in on a trade. Let me ask you something, when you had your big loss on $PBMD and shared with us, didnt you say, that for help to control your losses, you where going to ask your broker, that if you are loosing big, they close the trade for you, no questions ask? :)
@kroyrunner899 жыл бұрын
+Fabio Bustamante Salama i did look into that, unfortunately that's not something they will do. but it would have only been a half-measure anyway, i need to learn to control myself not ask my broker to do it for me haha

Tim, how close were you to getting embroiled in that KBIO madness? I hear Reaper and TSykes got out in time for a small loss, but it broke a lot o hearts. Has it made you reconsider any aspect of your trading?
@kroyrunner899 жыл бұрын
+RoathRipper I was actually long biased before close that day, I was closer to longing than shorting, but decided I wanted to be all cash overnight. If anything, I'll definitely be more skittish about being short a low float overnight, and if I ever am, I absolutely will have to keep an active stop loss order in, just in case

Tim, can you tell me about your first year of trading (1500$ -> 100k). I'm really interested about your risk management and what helped you at achieve such a big goal? P.s. English isn't quite nice because I'm from Russia)

+Tim Grittani I heard it was really effective if you only put a certain amount in the brokerage so you are unable to overtrade. I like that idea, but at the same time, I'm still too broke to implement it xD

Tim, with that kind of money why don't you start trading stocks over $7 to $10. you will have less loss as stocks over $7 behave lot different way than penny stocks. I know you Sykes learnt to trade penny stocks but I think it is time for you to move on.
@kroyrunner898 жыл бұрын
+Smart Investor Well I do trade stocks in that range too, but just because a stock is more expensive doesn't mean that it's less risky or more predictable. In fact, the largest loss I've ever taken was on a stock that was $9.75 when I shorted it. I prefer to stick to where there is volatility and the patterns are more predictable, as long as I stay disciplined I will make money with ease
