JP-8, very similar to JET-A-1, is a common NATO fuel. It is run in anything turbine and anything diesel. The same fuel that goes into aircraft and an Abrams M-1 tank goes into diesel fighting vehicles, trucks, generators, heaters, cooking stoves, etc. It doesn't mean its the best at all of these tasks, but it works well enough and the universal fuel aspect makes it worth it. The only way to get the same power out of a diesel is to advance the timing and increase the duration. If you have a low-compression hard-starter in the winter it will transform it into a no-starter due to the lower cetane rating.

I would rent or get a shop vac or something to suck up all the water in your truck, and also park it in your garage all night with all doors open and run a dehumidifier. After everything is all dry, rent a carpet cleaner with an upholstery thing an use it on the floor of your truck to get looking and smelling new again. I wish you guys the best of luck. At the Artic circle they run pure kerosene so fuel will not jell and winter mix for the states I’d diesel mixed with kerosene. It should run fine but I would add a quart of motor oil for more more lube for the injectors and fuel pump .

Marvel mystery oil is a solvent. The best lubricant to add is 2-cycle engine oil. Also, modern “ultra low sulfur” diesel fuel has less lubricating ability than even jet-a.

Makes sense that the truck would make more power on diesel as diesel is a compression fuel, while jet fuel needs ignited, the glow plugs won't ignite the jet fuel properly to get a complete burn, it'd be like running really rich

You should have tried to keep it running, The back pressure would have helped keep the water out of the exhaust. Nice about the diesels is that you do not have spark plugs to worry about getting wet and shorting out; but your charging system may be another story.

if you would have done any research you would know that JET A what they used is actually a close formula to kerosene, and they are both similar to regular old diesel. so no this would not damage the truck what so ever and thats why it ran as normal after putting 5 gallons in.

Actually jet fuel is just a highly refined Kerosene (a type of diesel), so you can run jet on diesel too.

Kaven Brryant from what little i know when you use methanol as a fuel you have to use more of it because it burns different so they would have to upgrade the fuel system a good bit or it wouldn’t run correctly also if i’m not mistaken one would need a higher compression ratio as well
