Your videos have been a great help to me over the summer and my garden is not dissimilar to yours in make up and shading. I attacked mine with a cheap electric rotavator, only cost 70 quid, but it done an amazing job breaking up the earth to a depth of a good 10 inches. After removing all the brick, stones and glass, I then added a wheel barrow of sand per wheel barrow of soil/earth/clay and regraded the ground to remove all the humps and hollows. This winter has not produced a single puddle or swampy area I usually get at the back door. Even after heavy rain there is no standing water. I've covered the area with weed fabric for the moment and will decide come spring what to do with the garden. All it took was a bit of my time and a bit of graft. Just need to get the 50+ rubble bags of broken building material down to the tip now.

Sounds like you've done a boss job! All that work will pay off in the long run which is what it's all about! It's always surprising how much comes out when you do a job like that too.

Ooh I was hoping to see how the your lawns were doing during the crappy months. Mines back to being an absolute bog but it looks like all the work you put in this year is paying off ! Hope you have a good xmas if you celebrate or holiday if you don't :) Looking forwards to see what you've got planned next year.

Probably would have been a good shout to be honest. I'll see how it goes in time. Just glad it's not the mud bath it was 😅

Personally I would have installed more land drains. I installed them all throughout my lawn and it drains perfectly

Yep,your's is starting to look like mine, boggy thinning out.Like you said, try and aerate it if it drys out a bit. Adding some gysum, will help break down the clay slowly. A bit of Procleen liquid iron with seaweed sulphate. Thats all you can do,spart from keeping off it,till the weather gets better.

That's it. All good shouts. Just about hoping it gets through now 🤞🏻

Have you tried any gysum

I've not, but a few people have mentioned it. I don't know a huge amount about it to be honest. I'll need to do a bit of research.

Is the drain running?

Yep, seems to be doing a great job at the moment. Had a lot of rain recently, but seems to be draining well.
