Absolutely not. Those particular trucks are simply not designed to handle that much weight. Those are probably 11-12 Litre engines. They make 15-16 litre engines, that can pull heavier loads, no problem. 💯

@@BiffTannen1983 When it comes to heavy haulage it is more about gearing and traction then raw horsepower - this truck wasn't a heavy haulage tractor and expecting to pull 65 ton up and impossibly steep gradient was never going to happen.

That may be true, however, for example the truck I mentioned the Mack brand, is one of the best built and longest lasting trucks to ever grace the roadways. They are underrated and overbuilt and well worth the initial investment. Also, along with reliability and durability come safer operation conditions for the drivers. Most brands of American trucks are more than adequate to do the job and when heavy duty models are introduced those factors are increased substantially. I’m sure that most trucking companies would prosper with superior equipment even at higher costs.

Trucks way overloaded! Turning up the fuel screw only does a little bit! If you don’t have the extra air, you don’t make extra power! You lose power the farther away you get from sea level! Plugged old air filters, ect, ect! This shows what you shouldn’t be doing 🙄🙄🙄🙄!

I’m a mechanic and diesels always run excess air, even when they’re puking black smoke. The problem is not enough time in the cylinder (at high engine speed) to combust the extra fuel, so they’re just wasting money by having the fuel exit the exhaust half burnt.

With respect, No, no excess air when grossly OVER fueled, or more boost wouldn't allow more power, and clean up smoke. Part of what you say is true. On most mechanical engines turning the smoke screw (Cummins PT style excepted) DOES NOT increase the flow rate, it increases how long the fuel is sprayed getting closer to the exhaust valve opening point. You need bigger pump and injectors to time it better, however, on the dyno, You will actually LOOSE power at some point at any rpm with too much overfueling no matter how you do it because of the AFR being so rich you drown the fire. If you can add enough gasoline with a carb to overfuel a gas engine you can do it to a Diesel. You are also going to reach a point of reducing egt and slowing the turbo on a turbocharged engine. Pro stock pullers have a seperate control from the governor for fuel rate to load the engine at HIGH speeds and gradually increase fuel at HIGH speed as turbo comes up giving MORE AIR. stock engines do this with an aneroid device that only allows more fuel with more air. its a balancing act for hot rod Diesels to get it all to come together, and they often miss it. (I use a control like this on my truck to get boost quicker at LOW rpms, or you flood it and "put out the fire.") When rpms get LOWER, the turbo drops out, and smoke goes white, and it's all over in seconds. Diesels in racing and pulling routinely spin 5,000 plus rpms. Some make huge power with huge boost and little smoke. This truck is sick, and at LOW rpms, not high, and fell down out of the turbo. Reducing the AIR. you can see when the rpms come UP, The smoke is BETTER because of more boost. 😊

if the trucks are maintained to speck then there is never a problem. That goes for the loading. 65ton on any truck is over loaded. as far as breaks the trailer should have 75% of any breaking force applied.

Light loads only. Shippers and carriers should know better and adjust loads according to track taken. Fuso doesn't mind if they blow engines and have to order new ones.

Overloaded trucks of any manufacture are not strong enough to pull the load uphill! Drivers without basic knowledge of a truck's load capacity are at fault!
