Option select means you do a certain input and get different results on different scenarios- But you planned the input in a way that both results will be good for you regardless of what happens. So Baiken inputs 6H~+K and gets either a throw (if the opponent can be thrown), or a 6K which serves as an anti-throw and counter hit tool (if the opponent can't be thrown) This type of option select is extremely common and vital in GG, it just that every character has a different one.

Moves that are invulnerable to throws also work against command throws. So yes, 6K will beat Pot Buster.

Okizeme means attacking on the opponent's wake up from a knockdown. Find easy combos and work your way up as you play a lot.

I'm binge watching all of guilty bits episodes and these are great! As a brand new player they help a lot, plus they're super entertaining. So far Baiken looks like the most badass fun character to me, but I'm worried she's too complicated for a beginner and I won't get much out of playing her. At the moment I've been playing almost entirely Ky as he seems the most familiar and easy to understand to me.

An option select is the situation when someone who is pressuring the opponent has options to confuse the opponent with what they do. Her 5p allows 3 options when blocked, going low, overhead, or getting a throw. Because of the many different options it has, it can confuse the opponent if they're not on their toes. It also works for training the opponent. Like if you go for the low option a lot, then they won't see the overhead option coming until it's too late. I hope this helped.

That is not at all what an option select is that's just a mix up situation. An option select is an input or series of inputs that covers multiple options at once, for example if you jump in and press sweep during the block stun or the time when there should be block stun then if they block your jump in is blocked and you are fine and of they backdash the jump in attack misses and the sweep you pressed will come out.

3:06. Watching Japanese matches, trying to go off the combos in the dustloop threads. It was boggling my mind how I wasn't figuring out how players were finishing their combos with Baikens 412+P counter. I had no idea that you can cancel her run with it. When did they add that? Was it in AC? or new to + or R?

Jumpingmelonz is wrong, that's not an option select, that's a mixup. An option select is when you do an input/inputs that has multiple outcomes that will be determined by what you opponent does. The simplest one I can think of is from UMvC3, where 6H is throw. If you're close enough to throw, then you throw them. If they backdash, or just weren't close enough to begin with, you hit with a Heavy attack.

Bad health, Great Guts. Don't Combo Baiken, she'll take your combo damage and go "Nope, It's just chuck testa" , Shes got great match up against slap or rush down characters like jam or HOS.

I think testament had changes in plus r that affected alot of his gameplay. I am not certain, but from what I have seen, the badlands loop was basically taken away making him more reliant on mix ups, well placed traps, or EXE pressure which needs meter for frc. I think a testament guilty bits might be a while to research. Hopefully, novril can prove me wrong and show testament is still badass. He used to be my main.

Usually, moves that are not mentionned in the video are either useless, not worth the use or too situational to be useful so he usually ignores them.

ByakuganXEyeX If you want more information about a character, you should check the Dustloop Wikia and Forums of this chaarcter. They explain for exemple that Kabari (the move you're talking about) is actually a really good move but that's talking about the AC+ version, it might have been nerfed in Plus R

You should probably also learn an additional character so you won't see the game purely from her eyes. She changes it too much.
