My hot take with Belgium is if they're early-to-mid in the final running order, this is a top five. If it's late, it doesn't have any hope at all. That hook and impact of the last minute needs to bring you in which I don't think people will have the patience for once they've seen tons of songs.

I _think_ unless we get something else that makes me change my mind we might have our jury winner right here? I don't think overall winner unless the performance is somehow so groundbreaking that enough of the public votes for it but I can't see Sweden winning over the juries this year and this is definitely less cheesy than France which I think the juries will appreciate. Otherwise the hardest hitting songs right now are mostly tele magnets.

I think its a great song, incredibly cinematic and dramatic - something important for a Eurovision song i think. I also think the performance and vision from Mustii himself is clear. But 1. I think its hard to judge just based on the studio cut + music video and no live performance yet (i dont doubt it will be stunning live too) 2. Visually so far i think its maybe a litttttle too warm - dusty sandy, combined with a dramatic pop anthem, the mv is slightly too similar to Tattoo's staging theming as well as Loreen's type of music for me to see it winning this year. I don't think songs with this kind of proximity would be back to back winners. So ultimately i don't see this being a winner this year, definitely super strong though, defo qualifying and can't wait to see how it does in the final :) I lovvvvve this type of music in particular though too haha

This song is very slow, and I need him to add more melodic singing in the end, change it up a little. Other than that, I think its a top 5 because it has alot of fans. But the staging better be dramatic. Norway is my favourite. see the reason i think this might do really well is because it's one of the only ballads - and probably the only passionately anguished ballad - we have this year. had this entered in 2022 it would have been eaten alive, but i think this year its biggest rivals so far are Slimane and maybe Dons if you squint a lot. i'm in love with it tbh.

I knew Mustii first as Drag Race judge in Belgium. His voice & presentation here impressed me. The production is excellent. But as time goes by, I am favoring more unique, creative entries: Switzerland, San Marino, Ireland, Luxembourg, and Spain. This is just my taste. I think there's a good chance that Israel won't join this year, and these lyric approval thing is just taking steps to make it look like they've been disqualified due to competition rules, but it's just very cowardly. I wish Ebu would grow a spine and apply the rules that they themselves set last year with Russia. This whole thing really turned me off of Eurovision and I was a huge fan

I like this song but I don’t love it. The last 30 seconds are begging for a huge vocal moment. Hopefully the live performance will bring that out. The muted drums zap the energy of the song just a little bit. I need that pop of the snare to really sell the desperation of trying to stop something from ending. I’m very curious to see how this plays out in a live setting.

Again to me this sounds like an Imagine Dragons type song. His voice is lovely and as you say the rasp isn't so gruff it sounds bad. The only thing that draws it back for me is the repetition of the words "Before the parties over". I think the whole structure of the song veers from the norm of verse chorus verse chorus middle chorus and that's what is putting some people off. It's in my Top 10 but not Top 5

For me the problem with this song is that it uses silence to try and build tension and while that works in a recording you can't use silence in an arena when performing, it's never impactful because there's never complete silence in an arena for you to hear that. I don't think this will translate on stage, "quiet" songs don't do well at Eurovision, I wouldn't say it's dirge, there is power and impact to it but I don't think that will come across live

The song's fine, but I don't know about the visuals. Everything about it screams "I want to be Bowie meets Loreen, I want to be an art hoe poser without really adding anything interesting to the conversation", which feels a bit tired. It'll do GREAT with the jury, its the perfect pandering mix of 'classic' references (ie Bowie) with "modern" sensibilities, which the jury loves even more than they love ballads, but its not for me.
