"If you could only ever listen to one song and nothing else ever again, what would it be?" I got out of bed this morning, and the first thing I saw on Facebook was this question from a friend (in Canada, as it happens - I"m in the UK), and immediately I thought of this exquisite song. I can't remember how I first came across it, but I've loved it since the first time I heard it for its simplicity and sincerity. I listened to it just now to check that it still had the same effect on me, and almost immediately found myself fighting back the tears. I didn't know it had been used in a film, as mentioned in the comments, so will seek that out now. Thank you, Dave Carroll, for this jewel of light in what seems such a dark world right now.

I remember when I first heard this song live, the beauty of the melody & energy of the message cut to the heart. Everyone was on their feet. It's been 4 years since I asked Dave if I could post the song here for everyone. He gladly gave the go-ahead, and that was all well before Dave's "United Breaks Guitars" saga and sensation. I'm happy that a lot of people have found their way here since then. :-) I came back to listen again myself today, to remind me that NOW is all there is...so simple.

That is so gorgeous Dave. I spent hours and hours at Dulles airport last year because of United's overbooking of a flight. The staff were unapologetic and cold towards me. A waste of a day when I could have been in New York with friends. Healing music for us both. Congratulations from a fellow musician.

To anyone who's wondering about this, Dave sent his song to Eckhart Tolle in 07 after it was written because it was inspired by "The Power of Now". Eckhart liked it & endorsed it last year before he did Oprah's global classroom. After that Dave did every thing he could think of to get the song to Oprah. I'm not sure if she ever heard it, but a copy was given to her producer. Maybe now she will. Couldn't be happier for Dave this week. It would be hard to find a harder working & nicer guy!
