After a monthly break, this video almost feels like my *first* video. I want to approach my content quite differently from here on. More storytelling, filmmaking and creative ways to educate and inspire instead of just talking to the camera and some graphical overlays. This channel is about freedom. That includes freedom money (Bitcoin), locational freedom, financial freedom, peace of mind and much more in my eyes. Hope you enjoy!

As the world digitizes, so does the ability of workers to be productive digitally. The dematerializarion of the world has been astonishing to watch as a millennial who grew up with cassette tapes and no internet. Bitcoin is an integral piece of the digital-world transition but will have consequences in analog venues as well. Great work as usual! Respect from British Columbia.

I really experienced that having a base for a longer period (let’s say, a month minimum) works better being a digital nomad. Hopping from week to week doesn’t give you enough peace to focus on your work properly. Also a little place to actually live, with having things like a kitchen, does a lot. Living in hotel rooms and coffee shops and restaurants constantly makes you feel like a tourist or on holiday instead of living and working remotely. I don’t need much, but even being away with the goal to live somewhere for a bit and work remotely still makes you long for a little place of your own.

Hey Till, Amazing to see you in the road again and pursuing the digital nomad lifestyle. Thanks to you, I also told me workplace that I will quit around October to perceive this lifestyle. Sadly the back to the office mentality is rather large in my work area. I've tested out the Thailand lifestyle for 3 weeks and this only increased my motivation to do it. Even though quitting out right and starting something from afar freelancer style might be risky; I have made a big enough financial pillow that would help me in case of emergency or longer joblessness, but I am looking forward into combining my passions of crypto and architecture into one, while the real world still has places that are more enjoyable than the metaverse. Thank you for your content.

Hey Till! Which skills are the most suitable for leading a digital nomad lifestyle? Your videos are great! Keep 'em coming. ✨
@tillmusshoff2 жыл бұрын
In my eyes the number 1 skill is coding. Other than that writing, graphic design, video editing, online coaching, or literally anything else you can do on a computer. You also don‘t need to be self-employed like I am. Find a company thats flexible enough to let you work location independent. Then put in the effort and prove it works.

I studied some KZbinrs I liked, paid more attention to how story develops when watching movies and series and also read a book on storytelling, but I can‘t remember the exact name. I don‘t think I‘m really that good at it yet, but learning by doing as always :)

Nice video! Really enjoyed watching it. It really inspired me. Maybe have a look at the sound recordings and where to put your micro for the next videos. Sometimes it's really not easy to find a sweetspot as it might strongly depend on the surrounding, but it improves the general quality of a video if the sound quality is constant and less 'echoy'.
@tillmusshoff2 жыл бұрын
Yes the sound is still a bit of a problem. I‘m limited by location and equipment here, but let me tell you I do think about where to place the mic a lot!
@metalmonkey1282 жыл бұрын
@@tillmusshoff Which mic do you use?
@tillmusshoff2 жыл бұрын
Rode VideoMic NTG. The mic is less of a problem than the setup I think. One room had a lot of echo, the other one was close to the street. And while I try my best to get the mic to my face really closely it‘s not that easy without good stands that come from above. Otherwise the mic is always visible which is kinda meh
@metalmonkey1282 жыл бұрын
@@tillmusshoff Yeah, I feel that. The VideoMic NTG is a supercardioid condenser mic. For outside usage Shotgun condenser mics might be preferred when there's a lot of background noise, as they more focus in the direction they are directly headed. In case you are interested, search for "shotgun vs supercardioid" to find some more educated reflections on than. But I also see that carrying another mic might not be super convenient :/

Most in-demand skills or niches? Genuinely tasking. For someone with a variety of interests + a will to learn from 0. Thanks for reading. Hope to hear from somebody.

The top skill is coding in my eyes. I‘d say you need a few months to be good enough to monetize it. I have a degree in computer science but really taught myself coding afterwards. Coding bootcamps are also a great option. Other than that I would consider all digital media to be good options. Video content, writing, creating infographics etc. Whats important here is that you not just become good at one of those but combine it with an interest you have where you can become an expert. My first job was about the video game FIFA. My second job about creating educational Bitcoin content, because I studied the field for years and monetized that knowledge. Hope that helps a little bit!

You need a skill set that gets you paid to do that. Being a digital nomad, doesn‘t mean you are on vacation non stop. I easily work my 40h per week, just location independent.

By just doing things. Take a surfing lesson for example and you meet 5 new people. 1-2 will stay longer and look for friends to hang out with just like you. If you go to a bar you will be approached by other solo travelers as well. Other than that digital nomad facebook groups for your specific location are great as well!
