Now is the Perfect Time to Fire Ross Atkins and Name James Click GM of the Toronto Blue Jays

The Toronto Blue Jays are heading into the All Star Break after defeating the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday afternoon. Despite the win, they remain well outside of a playoff spot and are preparing for a huge sell off at the trade deadline. It is difficult to foresee a future where General Manager Ross Atkins is with the club in 2025, so it would make perfect sense for the organization to move on from Atkins now and allow VP James Click to oversee the Blue Jays for the rest of the season and beyond.

I howled from the rooftop when the Jays brought in Shapiro and Atkins. Worst hire from day one. The fact they've lasted this long is even more amazing. I wouldn't have them manage my 12 year old son's baseball team. Get rid of Atkins now, then show Shapiro the door at season's end. If they have to be bought out, oh well.. whatever it takes, they're both losers.

Rogers does not look at the standings or anything the team does except to look at the ratings of games on sportsnet and the number of tickets sold. They simply don't care except the team is content on their network, which is why they bought the team in the first place, ownership means they don't have to pay the team for broadcast rights.

Can’t have Atkins make any more trades! He’s the one that traded the clean up hitter (Teo) for a dime a dozen middle reliever and undervalued Gurriel and Moreno and overvalued Varsho In his signature worst trade.To break out even it should’ve been Gurriel for Varsho straight up,so he basically gave away the Jays future catcher for free, pissing Moreno away in horrendous fashion.

It's so close to the trade deadline, you hate for someone new to start now. But at the same time, I have no appetite for Atkins to have any more control over this team, at all. This team isn't getting within a country mile of a playoff spot.

The fact the jays have the 2nd highest payroll of active payers and are no where near the playoffs is embarrassing. They are spending 3x of the rays and are behind them. That’s way more then the low tax state excuse they just suck

In an anonymous poll of 40 executives in MLB to rank the top 5 front offices (and based on the votes, they were assigned points), the Blue Jays did not get one single vote while the Braves with AA came 3rd with 130 points and 3 first place votes. This front office is putrid but firing Atkins will accomplish nothing since he does nothing without it coming from Shapiro. That's why AA left, that's the reason this mid-level executive with no GM experience was put in that position in the first place, and why he got a second contract and retains his position despite this continued dumpster fire. James Click being moved into that position under Shapiro will change absolutely nothing in the organization. This needs a purge from the top.

Atlanta Braves are run by a corporation with Shareholders and are obviously very successful while the Yankees are run by a single owner - ask Yankee fans how they feel about Cashman and Boone. Like any entity, you need good, competent owners with deep pockets regardless of if it's an individual or a corporation. Rogers is neither good nor competent.

Atkins failed to establish a winning culture when we brought in Montoyo. He should have never have gotten the job in the first place. They should have given the keys to Anthopolis.
