*NOW OPEN 🤯 HEMET CA. Skatepark TOUR! | SoCal's latest skateplaza | Inland Empire, Gibbel Park

#skatepark #hemet The latest Southern California skatepark is in Hemet CA. Located inside Gibbel Park; cross streets 2350 W. Latham & Devonshire. With a price tag of over $2.2 million to build the skate plaza, which follows the appropriation of $1.9 million in American Rescue Plan Act funds towards the project. It's close to completion and it looks like it should open soon! It's been a long time off the board and I just wanted to share my experience for anyone looking to get back into skateboarding or even if you're new to it. I've missed skateboarding so much and after weight gain among other life issues skating just took a far back seat. Well my friends the time for regret is over because I'm back and loving it. I'm just a little bit older and heavier but with a healthy diet, exercise and skateboarding back in my life the pounds are melting off and flexibility and strength are coming back. Hey let's start a skate for kids program

@@jamilejenkins-il9mt That’s a good idea. I was a part of a program in Vegas called push forward and it was youth mentoring after school program. I would help kids learn how to skate speak about skate filming and bring cameras out and make little edits with the kids. It was a lot of fun and a ton of work. It takes a village, It was good because it kept kids outta trouble in the less represented areas and reinforced positive outlets. Especially now that content creation is full blown career path now. It would be cool to expand on the arts and bring exposure for kids that wouldn’t have it otherwise.

I honestly have never seen skateboarders around hemet. I’m sure they’ll appreciate it, in fact I’ll bet there will be a handful that use this park as a stepping stone to a career in skateboarding. It’ll be really good for the area skaters ❤️🛹

Grew up in Hemet from 03-2010. Hemet skate scene was strong growing up. We had a few skate shops Concrete Jungle, Reaction Boardshop and Hungry Heart. There was a lot of street skating taking place, Skate crews, a few pros were from here. Greg Myers grew up in Hemet. Not sure what happened to the scene when I left but it was great growing up here. I wish we had this park to enjoy

I really dig the Perris park. Went to Idyllwild yesterday such a rad mini ramp. A lot of traffic in Hemet until the hype blows over. I’m gonna go to Redlands next.❤🛹

Yeah it’s like any park I’ve helped open or been a part of the kids take ownership and it becomes part of them. It’s wild and cool to see the pride they take in it. A very strong foundation of community is built and they won’t let anyone screw that up. As a skater for 30+ years ain’t nobody blowing the scene. That’s for sure!❤
