@@MeepleUniversity No but seriously, the dynamics in your conversations is so incredibly soothing to listen to. When both parties know the art of listening, things become interesting.

Now or Never is the first game I tried from Red Raven. I really liked the combat system. It reminded me of an RPG video game. You have a list of attacks available. The D4 result was the attack you get to use. You fought until the end or you ran away lol. The leveled up attacks and armor upgrades felt so familiar to me because I was a video gamer. I couldn't figure out how to get the city building going very well though, I was only filling up maybe 2 rows. In my 3 solo plays I was getting 35-40 points. No where near the 100 points the rule book considers winning. I should really teach my wife the game so we can play the story. Anyway, I was really impressed with the game. I think Ryan Laukat is really talented and I don't say that about people too often. I backed Distant Skies since then and picked up Empires of the Void II and The Ancient World. Above and Near did not appeal to me for some reason. But yeah, I really like this one and it's staying in my collection.

Wooow amazing, your first game,it's a good one to start :) Yes about RPG video game - the sandbox element! And the combat, like Final Fantasy etc. Hahahah retreattt!! YOu're right, I was video gamers too - Diablo, Final Fantasy, Guild Wars, etc. City building I wasnt doing well either haha. Yes totally, the campaign is neat, and it's competitive - you like competitive for game with your wife, or was it just for puzzle deduction style? lol. And howabout Sleeping Gods?

@@MeepleUniversity I've heard so many good things about Sleeping Gods but I passed on it when I saw it at my FLGS. When I saw the box art for Distant Skies 👀 I knew I would have to learn more about it. As far as I can tell it's going to be trimmed down a bit and more palatable than the first. And theres a pterodactyl chasing a plane on the box, I mean come on lol who doesn't wanna play that

@@BobbyJuno Bwahahah yeah that's a really good point! THis standalone looks so gooood! I love Sleeping Gods, feels like that RPG style and cooperative. Hmm we have how to play for Sleeping GOds, and it is quite a few to explain. But worth it - I think!

I'll stick with Near and Far. This one is too complicated, not overly so, but still.

I understand, Near and Far has less things oing on I think, and more adventury - also a great game! Thank you for the visit!
