My take on the lyrics for Three Wishes.
Chaos is all about change, and time is no different. To cherish the past is to learn what needs to change. To cherish the present is to live alongside change. And to cherish the future is to create change itself. At least, that’s just how I interpreted Grand Fest.
Anyways, HOLY MOLY I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH IT’S SO FREAKING BEAUTIFUL AND I JUST WANT TO CRY WHEN I LISTEN TO IT
I absolutely love the original lyrics for it as well (and tbh the og lyrics might have more pearlina than mine?? 😳😳 uhh nintendo stepping up their game??), but I still wanted to do my own take on them because this song is just so amazing.

@@BROKENCORAL1196 thanks!!! that line's actually based off of sunken scroll 24 from splatoon 1!! i also remember reading this one comic called "this festival we call life" back during s1, and it's just always stuck with me since then, something about it just really connected with me and honestly it's part of why i came to love splatoon and its backstory so much!!

Wow Genuinely great I can't really do it justice with words LOL You perfectly expressed the essence of GrandFest: instead of being a conflict like Splatoon 2's FinalFest, Splatoon 3 ended with a celebration of Past, Present and Future alike. This game often toys with the ideas of the importance of understanding or past, as well as apprecciating how far we've come today and how many possibilities the future has in store for us. The past is the base of everything and without it there wouldn't be anything; the present is precious because of all the things that have improved and because of all that might not be here tomorrow; and finally, the future is what everything will eventually converge into and what offers new possibilities that make life worth living. It would only be natural that this game would end not with an apocalyptic war to decide the fate of the world but rather with a celebration for what we've overcome together and for all the memories that have yet to be made; and I feel like this video is a perfect representation of this Keep the good work up man👍

@@SeaSmugTheSeaSlug tysm!!! grandfest was so genuinely beautiful to me, the absolute culmination of everything the series has been leading up to… while i wasnt originally too keen on past vs present vs future as a theme mainly because it didn't really feel like it had the same spectacle as chaos vs order, i've come to love it and grandfest over time, maybe even more than chaos vs order, with how much it just pays homage to splatoon's legacy, where it is now, and the potential futures for the franchise!!

It's often a difficult balance to strike between getting something that sounds like the words spoken vs getting something that sounds grammatically correct/the right intent. I've recently leaned more towards writing lyrics that fit a theme than creating similar sounds, but it is definitely important to make things read how they sound to an extent, so I'll keep it in mind for future lyrics ^v^
