Sum up of the story The neighbour and his wife got caught in a car accident. Sadly the wife died. They also had two kids (a son and a daughter) who were arguing one day, unfortunately resulting in the son accidentally killing the daughter. In an effort to keep the son out of trouble the neighbour buried the daughter in the garden and locked the son in a basement. And also put up fake missing posters of his children so that people wouldn’t get suspicious of the children’s whereabouts. Eventually the neighbour came to a decision that he wanted to be with his whole family again so he set fire to his house which killed the son and himself (the burnt down house across the road) and I think that the guy Cory plays as is just experiencing the horrible events of the neighbour and his family. Also the shadow guy is all of the neighbours evil sins and bad choices, basically a demon

His children, Mya and Aaron, are in Hello Neighbor:Hide & Seek, and it shows you the backstory. Basically, Mya and Aaron has a huge imagination, playing animals, firefighters, zombies, and cops n robbers. After their mom died, Aaron got aggressive and angry. I have a theory. The neighbor's wife died in the car accident in the beginning of the game. In the second act were the girl gets pushed of the roof while you're riding the roller coaster, it might be representing the you or neighbor's son pushing the daughter off the roof. Which explains the random coffin (where she might have fallen to her death) in the backyard. So the neighbor locked his own son in the basement where none would ever find him, so he wouldn't harm anyone else (maybe). So he put up the missing poster so no one would be suspicious of the kids disappearance (just my theory). Also, my hair was once at my hips. (when i was a baby xP)

I think the neighbor had kids, and when the mother died he got sad and got drunk a lot. Then he abused his kids. The girl died in some accident (possibly because of the boy or neighbor). The neighbor then locked the boy away forever (possibly because he killed the girl and the boy knew). The missing signs show his two kids, and he feels guilty about it. The shadows resemble his anger.

Alright so here's how i see the story, a video i watched from Ryan tied it all together, his video goes more into detail but ill try to keep it simple here. Neighbor lost his wife in the wreck, so all he had was his 2 kids, a daughter and a son. The son has a little attitude while the girl seems normal. Something happened to where the son pushed the daughter from a high place and killing her, in attempts to keep his son out of trouble he locked him in the basement, which shows why hes crying while he does so, and to cover it up he hangs up missing posters of his kids. Evidence of all this is found in a few things, the car wreck sequence we hear a woman laughing with Neighbor, and when the car crashes a red high heel comes through the window showing she died. In the roller-coaster scene we see his daughter (cardboard girl) being pushed by hands on the cart and into a coffin, the person operating the ride is his son (cardboard boy), so that shows he was the one who pushed her. Who is it that we see in the basement before the Act Finale? His Son. Here's another twist, who unlocked the door for the main character in Act 2? HIS SON

EpiclyBorn Only one question remains: Who is the shadow man? If you ask me, I'd say he's nothing but a figment of the protagonist's imagination. But what is he supposed to represent? The most logical assumption would be the neighbor. The shadow man doesn't even appear in the game until after the events of Act 2; In which he appears after the protagonist (You) is traumatized from being trapped in the neighbor's basement, and seeing things you weren't supposed to see, in which ended up scarring you for life. My assumption is that the shadow man is an exaggerated and supposedly scarier version of the neighbor from the protagonist's point of view. Around the end of act 3, the protagonist proceeds to face the neighbor one last time in his nightmares, in order to get rid of his fear of the neighbor (Shadow Man). In the end, he conquers the neighbor and his irrational fear towards him (Shadow Man) and is no longer afraid of him. After that, the protagonist feels care-free and starts to move on with his life. The shadow man is gone and he doesn't exist anymore. The End. (Correct me if I'm wrong in any way, it's only a theory.)

My theory is that the neighbor made a deal with the devil (portrayed as the shadow) to revive his lost family. To do so he needed to sacrifice children and that's why he's kidnapping kids and locking them in the basement. And that can also explain all the candles and ritual things that were in the previous beta. The protagonist managed to escape as a child. Maybe when the shadow was after the kid protagonist it was the devil who were asking for his sacrifice. At the end the neighbor is left haunted by the devil and seems to regret all of his doings because his family never came back and he did horrible things to children. He's punished for the rest of his life

I have a theory on this, so here me out: I believe that you were a kid just living on the same block as the neighbor when he spotted you playing in the street with a ball, thats when he got an idea. Since he had lost his wife and kids, he wanted another so he took you. So what he did was he made up a distraction knowing your curiosity would get the better of you. He made it look like he was locking someone up after he put the mannequin in the basement, then used a voice recored to make it look like someone was wanting out. Then you (the player) go to see what happened, that when he see you. Then when you get into the basement and try to get out (once you know it was a trap) he put locks on the door from stopping you from leaving. Fast forward how much time you were there. You were kept down in the basement with food and a place to sleep and wash yourself, when you got enough courage to leave, and so you did, looking back to see the neighbor with a disappointing look and sadness in his eyes. FAST FORWARD TO WHEN YOUR AN ADULT. You have PTSD (post.traumatic.stress.disorder) where you keep having nightmares about being trapped. Then when you get a letter, you decide to head home. You go back to your old neighbor hood to see your childhood house torn down. Then you see the neighbors house and you decide to move in there. Seeing as it has the basement door in the background. Then when you take a nap from your drive. You have a nightmare about the neighbor, having a bigger house than usual. Then finally, the boss fight. You see yourself from back when you were a kid, then all of a sudden, there is a man trying to get you. It may be that you were playing the role of the neighbor when the shadow man took his kid. Anyway you are protecting the supposed kid of the neighbor from the man who took his kid. When you succeed. But if you were to fail, the man would take the kid, just like the man took his kids and not being able to protect them. Then comes the giant neighbor. The house on his back symbolizes that family is home. Then when you get in the house you stumble upon the neighbors house to your right and the exit door in front of you, when you go over to the house you see him with hope and shock in his eyes. Then a shadow appears at his door probable symbolizing a police officer to arrest him. ( this is all my theory so you don’t have to believe its true but thanks for reading)

I was born bald and I was mostly bald until I was around 3 to 4 years old. (A lot of my baby photos I'm wearing hats) Past the early years I eventually I had short fuzzy black girl hair and I started getting braids extensions just to make my hair longer and boost my confidence around people. So as a reward for finishing the series, I'm prepared to provide a complete theory for the full release of Hello Neighbor. (Also, I'm sick of Cory saying the neighbor's a devil worshipper. I'm a Christian, too.) I'll try to be chronological, But a note before I start there are two things I wasn't able to figure out. 1. What was the neighbor (Mr. Peterson) doing in his basement? and 2. what happened to the neighbor when our avatar escapes? Finally, 3. What happened to his son? I have some guesses I will throw in chronologically. I'll begin with Mr. Peterson's backstory. As we saw in the flashback in act two, he had a wife, but she was killed in a car wreck. In the game Hello Neighbor Hide and Seek we see that he has two children: a boy and a girl. In the trailer, we see after Mrs. Peterson is killed, Mr. Peterson's life becomes a blur of sadness and regret. He neglects his children, and his son reacts angrily. We also see in another flashback in act two that his daughter fell to her death, and he was so close to saving her, as the hands on the roller coaster symbolize. His son will either die too or run away because of his father's behavior. The loss causes Mr. Peterson to go pretty nuts, trying to do anything to get his family back. As we see in act three, he puts up tons of missing(swimming) posters around the neighborhood, denying the truth. The shadow that stands with him symbolizes fear throughout the game. Now, we can assume one of two things Mr. Peterson does to his victims, that he never had a chance to do to you. Either Cory was right, and he was just kidnapping children to have kids again, but I think something much darker and more desperate was going on. I don't know how, but I believe Mr. Peterson was trying to exchange people's souls with his families' souls. But his attempts to raise the dead failed and he only ended up with many murdered people, likely adding to his insanity. When you escape in act two, we assume that you call the police and end this, but I believe our avatar was too scared to do so, and Mr. Peterson, driven further insane by paranoia, hides in his basement from the authorities until his food supply ran out and his house fell apart. When our avatar gets a weird letter, we can assume his parents have either died or moved, and he has inherited their old home. Since it's a free house, of course, he moves in. Obviously, most of what happens in act three is a dream. As I said before, the shadow represents fear, and in the final fight, he grows bigger than his fear and is no longer scared. However, Mr. Peterson never faced his fear, and it died with him. Sad, but likely true.

the story is that the neighbour got in a car accident and killed his wife. Then in the next cut scene your stuck in a room with candles and a bed in the neighbours basement. then the boy opens the door for you and thats the neighbors son. then in the next cut scene, you go through a ride in a cart. in the first room they were a happy family but in the next room things started to go bad. when the hands come out of the cart its a push motion and is pushing a girl from a tall point which is the neighbors daughter. which simplfies what the boy did. the neighibors son killed the neighbors daughter and then the neighbor locked his son in the basement to pay for what he did.

Ive always had long hair growing up till the moment whenI was born till today when Iwas about 2 years old I remember having braids an as a baby i had a fro because my mother didnt know what to do with my hair growing up my mother cut my hair just to try something new and my hair still grows very fast but so far as ik thats they longest its ever been
