Yes I had the same problem I bought a Ford cup holder, cut out a hole in the top of the door panel just above the door release handle, it was a bit of a tight fit but with a bit of adjusting the handle position it dropped in nicely , it looks like factory fitted & is really handy and stops the cup holder argument ( you just have to remember not to slam the door shut with a full cup of coffee)
