Yeah, bad enough the vocal mimcs, but they're lucky the fake crew are wearing generic outfits. Making sure everyone is wearing personalized outfits is the only way to be cautious, but that doesn't help much in the blizzard.

Not like mark is going to see this, but i highly recommend getting the mod that turns off the mask for the mimic (it also copies the player’s cosmetic items and suits). It makes it 100 TIMES MORE SCARY. Played with my bf with that mod, and I remember just seeing him at the end of the hall way, staring at me. I genuinely thought it was him, and then he started full on sprinting at me. It was a mimic, and let me tell you i have never been so scared in a video game.

Okay that little bit is driving me CRAZY though, because I had assumed that was part of the skinwalker mod that plays back players voices, But upon asking around and trying to find it for myself, and getting the skinwalker mod to try out, it looks like the skinwalker mod on its own does not do any kind of effects like that... Unless the voice recorded ALREADY had that effect going on it whenever the mod recorded it when the player initially said it. Now I'm trying to find confirmation that that wasn't a separate mod they were using to make it all spooky

It actually targets too, it will choose a designated player to mimic most of the time, to keep it consistent and harder to tell if it’s fake or not. You can tell the difference from bobs mimic and Bob himself by the echo. If there’s an echo, it’s real Bob messing with them.

couple tips, 1. If you stand on the railings most creatures cant hit you and you can shovel them to death 2. The dogs are blind and you can use noises to avoid them 3. You should try and have a signal to teleport if you dont have a radio, for example if someone is on the ship and the players dont have radios, you can like spin 3 times to signal for a teleport or something

The mimic crewmates are in fact not modded, they're a new enemy that came in the latest base game update. But the whole mimicking your friends voices thing is a mod, it's called the skinwalker mod, probably one of the most popular if not the most.

Another pro tip from a clip I found. As for the Jester, either lead it into a room while passive and have someone lock the door from the ship when you leave, OR if it's gone attack mode, all players leave the building and it will reset to it's passive state. AND, there are fuse boxes that can close "Terminal doors" in game, if no one is one the ship. I'm guessing once closed, they never open again?
