Doesn’t change the fact it’s flat. And even if it wasn’t, his voice is also a thin voice. He never had a powerful voice like the best lead singers in popular music, like ray charles did, or even early Robert plant and Chris Cornell.

I feel like some of the character of Johns singing is actually masked when the full track is playing. There's a real authenticity/ honesty about John's voice. I think he was the only one who could pull off the Solo artist that they all ended up trying to do, definetly up there with likes Bob Dylan. The other members were more suited to a band format.... Its a shame we didn't get to hear what other music he could have made, even now.

After all the larking about and pulling funny faces, when John got down to business he could really deliver the goods. Who else sang George’s solo in their head, complete with harmonic?
@danielfisch3899 ай бұрын
I have always thought it was only George playing the solo. Several books about the Beatles recordings say that it was performed in unison by Harrison and Lennon. The pair played identical "sonic blue"-coloured Fender Stratocasters on the track. The harmonic was George alone.
@nickdryad9 ай бұрын
@@danielfisch389 That’s an interesting piece of information, also quoted in Andy Babuiuk’s book, Beatles gear. It's hard to listen to this edit and think that Lennon didn't write this song with a personal background, I don't care what any article or Lennon himself says in person. This "version" sounds like a sad, lonely man with his guitar, singing about sadness and the feeling that nothing really makes sense in lines like "Making all his nowhere plans for nobody" while at the same time he gives himself words of encouragement and tries to cheer up with lines like "You don't know what you're missing/Nowhere man/The world is at your command". It's moving to think about it this way and I really thank this edit for giving me this new perspective and loving this song even more than I already do.
