Desert man, Thanks, I could not find any info on it at all. It must of been a lot of hard work, in the heat, with midges, mozzies, etc. Do you know roughly when it was built? Cheers, karl

Fantastic vid folks . I thought only us locals knew about the old hanger , I sat out a cyclone ( mainly just endless rain ) there for a few days in the 70's . Roo's use to lay around in it in summer and on one visit we shared it with a 4m carpet , still the biggest i've seen . He'd have been there living on birds but I guess he ate the occasional joey or dingo pup . I think the Valley of The Giants track might be shut because of dangerous trees before the Valley section , one's that didn't fall in the fires

Hi Karl, The exact same thing happened to me back in 1995 a car wouldn’t slow down and I was in my land cruiser with a Crate on the back on a narrow track on lean the other vehicle didn’t stop and ripped my tarp and bent the crate, well then it was ON I was a lot younger and fitter then but after a bit of a chat I got it sorted and they were backpackers!!!! Cheers mate 👍🍻🇦🇺

Great work once again, nature stills were a feature as was the beach at night. I love being beside the ocean at night. Rainforest drives looked awesome, I could almost smell it. Fancy camera work which must have taken quite a few takes made Kattys float down the creek a feature too. I was a little concerned when Katty reported filling with petrol at happy valley, Karl didn’t seem concerned though……😎. I think that young lass on the skim board might have an Instagram account as I’m sure I saw her taking your picture a couple of times…. The sudden cut when disengaging from that white SUV is a bit suss…I was waiting to see the paint swapping. What happens on Fraser, stays on Fraser huh? 🤣. WW 1 airfield on Fraser….🧐 😅. Oh, I totally agree with Kattys disgust regarding that nappy. People, not a fan…🤨 Great work, thanks.
@nowhereboundtouring3 жыл бұрын
Gday Kevin, Thanks for supporting us, we do appreciate it. The float down the creek was all Kattys idea. It worked out well. In the end with the SUV, we had our hands full trying not to destroy it, so we could no longer film it. We are glad to report that there was no swapping of any paint, but we were only 10mm apart in the end….. Cheers, Karl & katty

The hanger & runway was used by the forestry contractors & later was used by contractors working on Kingfisher Bay. But primary use was for forestry, the old northern forestry camp wasn’t far from the airstrip.

Nice series showcasing Fraser. It's such a beautiful spot. Not sure where you are now but we love Moreton, kind of a mini Fraser with no dingoes and fires are allowed when there are no fire warnings. The guy at the beginning, the guy in the white fourbie and the nappy leaver must be in the same league. 🙄 Cheers Annette 🥂

Another great episode guys. Sadly, the lack of courtesy and decency by a few people is aptly displayed for all to see, again. Some people should just stay home !!!!. Thanks for taking the time and effort to share, much appreciated, take care, cheers.

Just curious, can you shift from HI to LO range on the fly or must you be stopped to do that? Still waiting on my Isuzu camper in Japan.

Hi Jim, To go from high to low you must be stopped, like most 4WD’s. 2wd to hi 4WD can be done on the move. Thanks for watching and supporting us. Cheers, karl

You think that is expensive for fuel. I did the Canning Stock Route in 2018 and fuel at the half way point was $3.40 a liter.
@nowhereboundtouring3 жыл бұрын
Hi Peter, Yep, that is expensive, I assume it will be about $5 per litre now….. that’s got to hurt😥

Shed cant be that old , it has manufactured trusses and gang nail plates. I'm guessing it was built for Nat Parks or for the Sandy Cape Lighthouse.
@nowhereboundtouring3 жыл бұрын
Gday KV, That’s what I thought when I saw the nail plates. It’s not in the right spot for the NP or the light house, but it is on the old runway, so I’m not sure. Maybe it was a late addition to the runway?
