You do understand that, if people like you are just easily granted citizenship, then this would be yet another thing that attracts illegal immigration, right? LIke you might think its unfair for you, but if people like you are granted citizenship for the simple fact that you were able to avoid deportation for 24 years, then wouldn't it be equally unfair all infant southern americans to also not get free/ instant citizenship? They are going to say, look at diablito118, he was able to live in america for 24 years and you guys gave him free citizenhip, why can't i also have free citizenship? The situation is getting totally out of hand and we can't keep doing things to attract illegal immigration. When large numbers of migrants come here illegally at the same time, it is a total shock for everyone. For example, my city is now full of migrants. There is park by my home where i go to walk my dog every day and the rest of my neighborhood goes to for the community pool, picnic, playground, and etc. Now, the park is always full of southern american migrants, and they play spanish music on full blast, all day, every time i go to the park. They are always in the park, they are always playing soccer and drinking in the park (for some reason, they are the only people that the police allow to get away with drinking in the park). These migrants behave way differently and make the park horrible for us. THey throw their beer bottles on the ground, and i swear i think they break them on purpose on the ground. The garbage cans are always full, because they are there all day every day, and so maybe this is why they just throw their trash on the ground. The bad part is, now i no longer feel safe to walk my dog at the park because the walking trails are all full of glass shards from their beer bottles. I am afraid the glass will get in my dog's paws. Another weird part is, maybe this is just because they are drunk/tipsy all the time, but these guys don't go to the public restroom, they urinate on the nearest tree, no matter who is around, and this is a family park that is always full of children. Once again, the police seem to not mind this for whatever reason, the migrants are just allowed to urinate anywhere in this public/ family park. Its really frustrating and i am only talking about this one aspect of our neighborhood that is impacted by large numbers of migrants all coming at the same time due to our attractive immigration perks.

DACA should expand to include the children of people on H1B visas. I know a girl whose parents came here legally on a H1B visa, then she moved here legally. And went to elementary middle school and high school here But she is still not a citizen. Her parents came legally, paying thousands of dollars in fees and they are still pay thousands in taxes which they don’t benefit from. But they are still not citizens and their daughter would have to pay out of state tuition for college because she is not a citizen despite living in this country for almost her whole life . But the children of people who come illegally get DACA and so many other benefits. That’s not fair.

If her relatives are US citizens or permanent residents, she can apply for an extreme hardship waiver (I-601 or I601A). The US government will approve the waiver if an applicant can provide a strong evidence that his or her lawful permanent resident relative will experience either (a) extreme hardship in the United States if an applicant is not allowed to come or stay in the U.S. and be with them, or (b) extreme hardship in their home country if the lawful permanent resident relative were to join an applicant there. This is the case for me. Got here when I was 17 when our entire family came over to the states. I′ve also liveed here when I was in elementary and now the total adds up to about 10 years of me living in the states. We unfortunately got a crappy lawyer and had to restart my parents′ green card process multiple times which had me eventually age out of process. I′m currently on an F1 visa and working under OPT. I really like this job and willing to devote the next few years or a decade of my life doing this job. But oops, can′t do that. I wish there was a way to get some of these people to work. We could collect taxes from them, but create a path to citizenship with requirements and if they don't follow through with the requirements then they face deportation. We have some American citizens who just survive off the government assistants and don't want to work or contribute to society, and they just enable that behavior because they don't set limitations. When you have someone working and come across a hard time and yet denied assistance like food stamps because they make too much, at least they were contributing to society. Why should they be denied?

This is the reason why citizenship is a privilege. Does Korea allow Americans to live and work there without going through so much bureaucracy? How many foreigners become permanent residents or citizens there? From what I read it is virtually impossible to become a citizen of that country unless you are married to a Korean. Do Americans pay the same tuition as Koreans if they decide to go to college there for whatever reason? Don't believe the rhetoric that there is no pathway for them. There is. While the kids are on a student or even on an E-2 Treaty Trader visa dependent they can look for a job while in the US and ask the company to sponsor them for an H-1B visa. They will just need to apply for a change of status then later on the employer can sponsor them for a green card. Coming from Korea it should take them no more than 4 years to get which isn't such a long wait it since their country does not have a huge backlog unlike India, China, Mexico etc.

Your family cut in line and received all these things which caused another family to have to wait their turn to enter legally. Be grateful but go to the back of the line and apply for emigration like your parents should have done in the first place. Godspeed.
