Hey Joe what if I had an exhaust leak somewhere in between both my nox sensors. Would I see that in my readings? Thanks for this video!

That would be tough to see with any gas bench. Even one that measured O2 wouldn't see it because a diesel has such high O2 out the tailpipe except at full throttle. If it was me, I'd use my smoke machine to look for an exhaust leak. To directly answer the question, I'd say "Nope". It couldn't be used for that. It's the wrong tool for that job.

Nick, you think too much of me. I'm just a knucklehead that likes fooling with broken vehicles. I do appreciate it though.

Great info. Thank you. What gas bench product do you recommend?

The one used in this vid is the HHGANOX1. It's NOx only (no other gasses are that helpful for Diesel diagnostics).

@@joediagnostics hey Joe I agree super helpful stuff. I can't find the hhganox1 - is it still sold? who else makes them? EDIT: my bad I just saw the new video with the Zeus HHGA-NOX gas analyzer add-on. are there any other makers of a tool that could be used like this?
@joediagnostics2 жыл бұрын
@@makepartsUSA , Hey David. The HHGANOX1 is currently only available through Snap-on's Industrial division. The regular tool trucks don't have it. Check with Kane International in the UK. I believe they have one available now.

I bought the 5 gas bench from snap on, intending to use it for diesel nox diag and gas engine diag. Is the standalone nox bench better for diesel purpose? I see you have used both in your videos. Thank you!

When I first started doing this I used a portable 5 gas. In my experience it ruins the O2 sensors in them. They start reading over 20%, which is the opposite of how they normally die. I could be wrong about that, but that's my experience.
