Saw these guys in finland 2009 if I remember right, between some of the songs they had some technical difficulties because some of their amp-gear broke, fucking ”melted” and went all fucked up (and what I understood) it was because there was too much bass in their sound for their stuff to handle. Still one of the greatest fucking gigs that I’ve seen.

I believe it. I saw them at the Fillmore (Philly) in 2019. It was a packed house, and we were way in the back by the soundboard. I ran a decibel meter on my phone for a while, and it was at 100+ the entire time they were playing. The only other show that comes close and surpassed it are Sleep and Sunn o))) respectively

This is pertinent because Black Sabbath's Paranoid was made in the immediate wake of his death, leading me to conclude that he was probably a major, if not primary, influence in the creation of the genre of doom metal. It explains now why I have been a daily Electric Wizard listener since I was a kid.
