Costliest setup ever seen. But worth it, it sounds awesome with full live control.

Great Video! If you ever do get the chance could you walk us through your church’s lighting setup and the lighting system you use? Love your stage design!

This was super helpful! Thank you. Getting ready to dive in and start placing some orders. Our setup will be pretty similar since we're using a Dante network as well. From my understanding, Pro Tools introduces latency, which would pose a problem when syncing audio/video for the stream. Was this an issue for you? If so, how did you address it?

sample delay would be your best friend

Why is didn’t you plug the Ethernet cable into the Mac directly and use Dante Virtual Soundcard???

Great question Finn! I forgot to mention this in the video but Dante Virtual Soundcard has limitations when it comes to channel count/quality/latency. We wanted the ability to record 64 channels at 96kHz (even though we don't currently). DVS has these limitations: (64X64 @ 44.1/48kHz) (32x32 @ 88.2/96kHz) (8x8 @ 176.4/192kHz). Also, the latency on the RedNet PCIeR card is 3ms no matter the channel count or quality. DVS's latency is highly dependent on the computer. Lastly, the RedNet PCIeR card has a built in redundancy port. If you rely heavily on Dante for your live service, this is a nice feature to have. But DVS is a great cheap option for anyone who doesn't need the higher sample rate, channel counts, and for whom slightly higher latency isn't much of an issue. You can always try DVS first and then upgrade to the RedNet stuff if DVS isn't cutting it.

Devan Bumstead thank you! Great answer, I love your rig, really impressive. How did you persuade leadership to invest in such expensive plugins when 99% of the church won’t notice the different from the stock plug ins?

@@finnrowden3341 Thanks Finn and another great question. See, here's the thing, if I were to have used my own plugins, I wouldn't inherit the SETTINGS that Luke Hendrickson applies to the plugins. The magic is in the mix and processing which, if you own all the plugins Luke owns, then all of his settings are applied. Otherwise I'd be left to guess how he's EQing, compressing, mastering everything. As far as cost, I was able to snag all the Waves plugins for $29 a piece during a major sale.

Devan Bumstead wow! That’s an amazing price! Completed understand 👍🏻 I guessed they were gonna cost hundreds. Thanks

@@finnrowden3341 AutoTune, Trigger 2, and the BBE plugins were more costly but very very much worth it. When it comes to kick and snare replacement and having your singers sing in tune, trust me, the congregation DOES notice! They may not be able to tell you why it's great, but they can just tell it is. And you also have to consider that this is far more than just a convenience for your congregation, it's a tool that reaches beyond them. To those who are unchurched and hear a quality broadcast, the church is represented as professional which elevates it's impact.
