How do you or your sisters feel about you (not being black) be apart of the NPHC, more specifically being apart of AKA! I herd so much slander from those who are and are not in D9 orgs. What made you want to join a D9 instead of a multi cultural or Latin/Hispanic org? Luckily, Alpha kappa Alphas former president stated "We still say the AKAs were founded for and by black women, but through the years, because of societal changes, we have become an interracial sorority. We're multicultural now." What would you or your sisters comment on this quote. Very good question. I always wondered why non black women would want to join a NPHC? I guess for her she did attend an HBCU so it make some sense.

I usually don't like to discuss a lot about how my race affects me bc tbh I haven't felt secluded. I also feel like typing it isn't the same as expressing my feelings through my voice but I have prophytes in the chapter that have been Brazillian and white etc, so I knew I could take the chance of being accepted just like them. I had some female figures in my life in the sorority and realized the standards they had were so high, I wanted the same. I looked into AKA more and with research I learned how amazing the values, principles, and service opportunities were. I am still a minority and although I am Puerto Rican and Cuban, I was not raised around that culture and I don't even speak Spanish. I would've felt really uncomfortable in a Spanish or white sorority. AKA is also a sisterhood after college when others aren't. Meaning we will provide service even after school and take our organization more seriously for it isn't just a resume booster or something we did in college. The values AKA process are above all and mean more because of the history and hardships. There's a lot more but again, I don't like discussing them on the internet
