mA is not power. It is current. What you loose over distance in voltage to the relay. The lower the current is, the lower the drop in voltage is. Great ide, and I like it. I ran into this video because I am looking for some way to measure level in a fuel tank. To bad these don`t work on a metal container.

I have found these sensors to have difficulties in areas with a lot of electromagnetic disruption around them.

I have a question. Do you know how to connect and use the black wire for sensor sensitivity setup?

Thanks for the video. could you please add to the video (or comments) the pinout you used to connect the relays? I need to know when there is no liquid in a container.

Sure, pin-out added to the video notes.

Does it need any calibration? can we use it for a permenant case for a long time?

The way I'm using it, there is no calibration. I wouldn't use it outside without putting some silicon around it.

I had seen this water sensor in Chinese e-commerce AliExpress. Can u tell me where to connect Black wire of sensor. Brown wire = positive (5-24v) Yellow wire = output ( positive output when water is senses) Blue wire= ground Black wire = ??? I had asked the Chinese seller but English in China is terrible. I can't understand their English.

My notes have this as follows: Brown: +5V Yellow: Signal/Out Blue: Ground I didn't find a use for the black wire. Hope this helps!

Black wire to a suitable pic. Then from that you could operate relays to turn on practically anything!

black wire is the sensor select line. so if you have more than one you can select between them. Say you are running the unit on 5 volts. When the wire is tied to ground (-5v) the unit is active, when it is tied to positive voltage (+5v) the unit is not active. So this way, say if you are using a micro controller you don't need to use but a single analog pin. However, you will need a way to enable and disable all those separate lines but there are port digital pin extension that can take care of that.
