I just now ran across this Tiny Desk concert and, while I am fairly new to Taylor Swift, I think I understand her popularity......she is authentic. Me being 74 yrs. old, it is nice to find new things. Especially finding quality that reminds me of old things. As she describes the way she writes, her love of break-up songs, her storytelling, acquiring fame and fortune while remaining true to herself, it all reminds me of my generation's 'Taylor Swift'. For me that person, that singer/songwriter, is Mr. Phil Collins. I sincerely hope Ms. Swift will find that comparison a compliment. I do.

Watching this for the first time after the eras tour concert, WOW I actually got to see her live twice with her singing songs from every era. I'm getting emotional because I became a Swiftie after listening/watching all too well 10 min version in early 2021, it got me to sit down and listen to every album and I realised that she's a LYRICISTS and I'm a sucker for good lyrics + that her songs aren't just the classics from which I used to listen to when it came on the radio. I'm so happy i decided to give her music a chance and look past the reputation and just see her and her craft. I'm in such awe of her.

Nine months ago, I'm not expecting her to drop the 10 min ver. Nostalgic. I'll hum the longer version until I get older.

The adoration of Tay Tay is so palpable in that room ( I presume and hope is the case for most rooms she walks into) that her chill professor of song writing vibe is super endearing.

All too well does not need a music video cuz we can literally see the song. What a masterpiece!

It's one those timeless songs in that the first time you ever hear it sounds like it's always existed and you wonder how you ever lived without having heard it...

I agree! It's a shame she has to re-record but she's driven and will do an outstanding job taking back what's hers.

Any artist who wrote their own song and contribute to the process of producing them should own it. It's their right

the fact that her voice is clearly struggling (probably just fatigue, which is totally normal for anyone singing as much as she does) and she worked WITH that reality by finding clever and smooth option downs (especially in Lover) is a testament to 1) how connected she is to the musicality of her songs, 2) her prowess as a musician and how well she's honed her skills, 3) her dedication to her fans and giving the best performance possible

The real glow up here is Taylor going from singing “it was rare, I was there, I remember it all too well” to ‘it was rare, you were there, you remember it all too well”. She is truly happy and can’t remember her heartbreak anymore 🥺

I'm a middle aged Dad, must have been living under a rock and just thought to myself, what's all this fuss about Taylor Swift. After watching this, I completely get it. Wow.
