I have to circle back around to this in 2023. I can really hear Stevie Wonder's influence when she goes into that vamp on focus. Especially from the piano players chords. Then her is improvising over that with India Arie vibes. I just love this because she's not just copying people. This is really brilliant musicianship from her and the band members. I'd love to sit in with them. They are having so much fun with it. 🥰

There has always been both trash and good music, nowadays we just have to dig a little bit to find the gems but they still there. So many of these tiny desk concerts are so good that it makes me wonder if there is something wrong with the recording industry. These artists sound better, sometimes much better, when they play live than they do on their official releases. This group is particularly amazing, but the same thing happens over and over with any number of artists. I wonder if this could be the future of music releases. Forget the darn studio and all that production, just let the artists play. There are some exceptions, of course, where a group or a producer has a real talent for using a studio, but on average these concerts make me think the recording studios do more harm than good.

@@watchrami I was looking for this comment, I thought I was the only one who felt this way.. And I'm french so I thought maybe I didn't get it all. And at the end, when Malik and Ajanee (sorry if I spell it bad) keep singing and she (HER) says "we don't have all day", Malik says "aw" like there is a little discomfort maybe because he was the one who introduced the band instead of her.. Well, maybe I go too far in the interpretation (cause I watched it too many times lol). But I love her music and she is very talented, maybe it's just a feeling, but the band is really great and they deserved some credit too.

tatertotter808 she’s really not 😂 she’s actually very humble (having met her I feel very confident to say that, I dare say she’s even a lil bit shy). She always gives her band a shoutout on her social media, I think she just let Malik introduce so he could have a chance to speak. She usually introduces the bad. But hey, some people don’t vibe with others I guess.
