Hello Warren...Isn't it wonderful how you have made the 'science' of gold prospecting so very down-to-earth and simple...Made of Marine ply, yacht varnish it, and it will last ages, as cheap as chips to get into the dirt and colour. An idea from my engineering brain, to fix coil springs either side of the rocker heel to give it a kind of 'ease of use. Pull it against the spring...and boinying!, Off it goes against the other spring and back again???...Going to Morocco in our Campervan at the end of March (2024), and up into the high Atlas Mountains to find our own colour, and this rockerbox design will be perfect for us, and maybe with some springs on...Thank you and very best wishes. Tony and Carolyn :)

Great work Warren and Cheers for sharing, worked like a treat. The old timers certainly knew how to make it work with very little. Happy New Year and all the best to you and Colleen in 2021.

A small aluminium one would be great to have a play with. Always run it into a Gold rat sluice for testing losses. Happy new year to you and Colleen mate. Dennis

I enjoyed watching your video Warren, I will never be able to make or use a rocker but its fascinating watching you explain how it is made and the innovations you have made and why. I must admit that I love gold, my Mum used to say it was a legacy from her Grandmother lol. I have watched you and Colleen finding gold in many different ways and I find the panning rather hypnotic, then to see what is in the side of the pan is always a wonderful surprise, and you found quite a bit in this video and that wasn't a full bucket. Good luck my friends love and hugs to you and Colleen Mary-Ellen UK

Hello, super great video, did you ever try the dream mat to see if all the contours trapped the gold ?

Thank you Warren for this excellent video. Might need to pick up a pan, despite that gold is seldom found here in my part of the woods.

You got that line of gold from only four hoppers worth through the cradle? That's really good going. Well done.

Hi Warren If you are detecting for miners relics and happened to find a nugget where do you stand legally? Great video thanks for sharing
@NQExplorers3 жыл бұрын
Great question Darrell, and one often asked. My answer is always to have the relevant Miner's Right or Fossicking Permit in place, that way there are never any problems, even if you only detect beaches or relic sites. Happy Fossicking mate! Warren.

Hi warren am knocking one up out of 19 mm pine. Comi g up pretty good.i have a combination of a miners moss mat and water proof carpet for the ramp and some 6 mm gal mesh for the top box and for the internal divider. Can you tell me roughly what the angle of the main box to the rocker frame. Maybe the height of the rear rocker curve and the front curve would be great .that should give a idea of the angle that it should sit at. Great video very informative. Hoping to hear further Regards Doug Toowoomba

Thanks for watching and messaging me Doug. The rear rocker curve is 2" and the front 1", the real angle I just determine in the field once I've set up. I used it a long time without the frame but it used to 'bog' in the gravel, or 'walk' around on a sheet of ply. So the frame is great, it bogs down in the gravel and you adjust the angle to your water feed rate, similar to a river sluice but of course the water flow is controlled by you and your dipping, 'just right' has the oversize and lighter particles gravitating down the lower mat and out the bottom, concentrates will be trapped in the mat/moss or the upper screen (larger pickers for example). It really is a trial and error method, just don't flood the box - a nice steady water feed and rocking motion. Hope this helps mate. Let me know how the build progresses. Happy Fossicking! Warren.

@@NQExplorers Thanks Warren for replying and your tips on using the box I am in the progress of sourcing a few things to complete the box . Will be making the frame to suit thats for sure and will send you a photo or two
