This a truly outstanding tool that makes NR2003 as modern as one could ever hope to be. Fantastic work! Better Cautions is also great but it doesn't like short tracks due to the nature of their coding, so they're the only type of track where the older restarts are recommended. Other than that, it's a blast.

Sure thing! Yeah they run road courses a little differently this year without the caution breaks. There should be some notes in the readme instructions for running stages without the breaks, just like in real life!

I've had issues with better cautions when not racing back to the line, sometimes it mixes up the field and whoever hasn't yet crossed the line at the moment the field is frozen, the pace car picks them up in front of the leader. Might be a good idea to keep that optional for the stage racing exes

Thanks! For the moment, there is no way to edit stage lengths. I do plan on building a custom version with variable stage lengths in the future, whenever I have time.

I tried to find this mod but I couldn't find it anywhere (on a safe website) And I still need help to be able to run the game in windowed mode (every time I try this or the game gets bugged, closes or doesn't apply the configuration)

I keep having an issue with auto stages at the end of a race the program will crash and my data won't be saved from the race. It's been a pain running a whole race and then realizing my progress is completely gone at the end.

I have an issue when I use better cautions with auto stages. Auto stages wont let me checkmark “race back to cautions,” which causes the whole field to mix up like the whole field would be about to go a lap down. Can you give us the ability to checkmark that feature?

@@FootballEditz11568 to use that feature, I'd use v2. For v3, race back to cautions will be toggled automatically no matter what. V2 doesn't touch race back at all

I have a question for the Coke 600 full distance is there’s going to be only 3 stages for that event or 4 like what nascar does in real life

In the zip, you'll find three version of the app: 2 stage, 3 stage and 4 stage. The 4 stage version is the same format as the Coke 600 - four equal stages. Just run whichever format you want for that race.

I have a weird glitch, whenever a crash happens before the stage the pace car just continues to run cautions laps until the end of the race. There a way to fix this?

This has happened to me a few times as well. No fix yet as I'm not sure exactly what causes it. Can you tell me more about your race session? (Track, how many stages, better cautions, etc.)

BT Zero do you happen to know if there is a way to shorten the length of the season? For example running 13 regular season races and 10 playoff? Or could I use the CTS season exe for a cup series season?

hey just seeing this! Inside of the Season Folder there should be another folder called Config. There is a file called SeasonInfo.tsv. When you open that file, the first number will be the "Races Run" number, which is self explanatory. After you run a race, change that first number to 13 will shorten the regular season to 13 races. I'd make copies of all of the files first, but this is an easy way to pull it off by editing "Races Run" number up or down.

When I downloaded this, the .exe files are deleted by my anti-virus. I'm assuming this is just a false-positive?

Yes. False positive. You may have to set an exception with your antivirus

Hey Bt, do you know about the issue where if a caution was thrown lets say 4 laps before a stage end with double file restarts the stage won't end early because it's 1 lap short and it won't go back green because of the stage end and with them being stuck double file they just run double file caution laps for the rest of the race, I wonder if there's a way you can fix this in a future version. Possibly end the stage in this situation if its possible, I've had it come up a few times in long races, it's not a huge problem, but does seem consistent, just a little bug.

Hey yeah I have had races where they never go green at the start of after a caution. From what I can tell, that's unrelated to stages ending early and just a random bug. I'll have to see if I can fix it for v3. As far as stages ending early, the number of laps remaining in the stage is actually set by track length. There should be a note about this in the instructions

@@BTZero Definitely not a problem with stages ending early, but the problem is the cars being double file ready for a restart and being on the last lap of the stage. In my case, it only happens if the race is scheduled to go back green when a stage is ending, when that automatic yellow is thrown for the stage end it freezes the double file restart and makes the number of caution laps infinite. For some reason I thought you can force a stages ending early due to caution, but I’m a dummy and forgot that it’s set by track length. Super odd one there, thank you for getting back to me!!! I couldn’t imagine what it takes to make a program compatible with NR2003, autostages is probably my favorite of them all. The ability to run a season just kicks ASS, Can’t thank you enough.

Unfortunately NR2003 is programmed to freeze if it's not the main window. So it'll still run in the background, but the game won't move if you click away. Plenty of older games were built like that and there's no way around it. If you don't have a second monitor, I think a decent option would be to run the game in a smaller window and arrange your desktop so you can see everything at once.

@@isthatkwame would depend on your monitor size. Maybe try one size smaller than the biggest available, then keep going backwards until you find a good fit

It's been flagged by other people's antivirus, too. Likely because it's a small exe with the ability to read and write files to your computer. Is there a site that you typically have luck downloading from? I can upload there or just send you an email?

Amazing Work! I had it working fine before, now when I start a race it throws the caution as soon as the race starts. Any idea what could cause that?

Still working on figuring that one out. For now, just restarting the race or the race weekend it fixes that issue as it seems pretty random

So with my issue I was able to narrow it down to the BC mod. If I wait to start BC after the green flag everything seems to run smooth.

Yeah, you can rename any modded exe and BC will run with the exe's properties. (New physics, added chat commands, etc.) That's what I do.

@@harleym8n That is a bug with better cautions on every exe. Wait until around half way thru the race before you check "add laps for gwc" and voila problem solved. Also make sure double file restarts (on the in game options screen) is OFF if you plan on using modern double file restarts as it sometimes also bugs out.

@@ilikeenderman7721 if you're spectating, yellows will not be thrown automatically unless you're using Better Cautions. If you're driving, make sure your Auto Chat #0 is "!yellow$". If you don't include the $, the yellow command will not be sent automatically. Also, make sure yellow flags are on and "driving screen chat" is active for your race weekend.
