I do agree that there are way too many forward passes allowed in the modern game, I think the "powers that be" encouraged too much leeway to allow for the "faster game" they always want. So now we have regressed to basically touch football.

@iffracem a forward pass in the lead up to a try ("creates" a try later on) will be let go. A forward pass that "directly" results in a try being scored from that final pass to decide a match will be pulled up. Both occurred in this situation.

I have no doubit in my mind if that was for the first try of the game that pass at the end of the game would have been let go. Inconsistent NFL/NRL refs have only themselves to blame because worse forward passes have been let go.

It used to be the arm holding the ball but the laws got changed in 2013 to the ball actually has to touch the ground.

I saw it go minimum 1 metre forward, maybe even 1.5…. So many passes in the NRL that go half a metre forward don’t get called and get called ‘flat’. Was good to see a definite forward pass get called. Usually those forward passes that are part of a game winner, or passes to score to tie games close to the end get let go. Finally the correct call was made.
