Lucky indeed,,, theres nothing wrong with wearing safety gear even if it never gets smashed,,, but rest a-sure there will be that day when you dust off the trail and you'll get up thinking,,, man oh man,,, I'm glad I suited up... just say'ing is all... a simple crash can be major,,, maybe the gear will help,,, maybe it won't... 2 things are true,,, the ground is mighty hard and it takes longer getting off the ground the old you get... just saying is all... well not even that bad, broke my collarbone last month, i think jumps and drops are way more dangerous, i just got some scratches and mussle pain doind enduro, but on a bike park style jumps you can break your bones. Definetely wear protection though, i wear it even on hottest days just in case.
